Lucifer sat on his throne watching Katherine and her brother train. She was magnificent. He was beyond proud of what she could do. At this young age, she was already more powerful than Ruth. This young woman would make a fine queen when the time came. They would rule the world together.
He didn’t appreciate the idea of her marrying. A human man was nothing, not worthy of her love or her body. Her powers would overwhelm him. Lucifer wanted her for himself as he had wanted Eve and the more he watched Katherine, the more he knew she would never find a man capable of loving her as he would. He didn’t care what the prophecy had revealed.
Lucifer felt their connection strengthen each day. As Katherine grew stronger, he grew stronger. For moments at a time, he had glimpses of his powers again
