Tomorrow

Victoria "Long day?" I asked, rubbing my hands together under the table and he didn't reply. "Whenever I have a bad day I just think of something better." I smiled, not minding that he didn't seem to be in the mood to talk. "What happened to your head?" He asked me tonelessly and my hand instinctively reached up and touched the deep cut. "I fell on the stairs." I replied, which was partly the truth. He looked me dead in the eyes, searching for something before he shook his head, obviously not believing me. I ran a hand through my hair just as the waiter came back and I smiled at him. "On the house." He replied, still avoiding eye contact with Landon and I was still a bit confused about it. But I just passed it across as both of them just not having a mutual liking to one another. "No, it's fine." I told him. "I insist." He said, already walking away and I sighed, looking back at Landon. I split the muffin in half, cutting his into smaller pieces and he looked at it when I slid it over, picking up a piece after a while and I smiled at the progress. "You can tell me about your day," I paused, taking a small bite."If you want. But if you don't, then that's okay too." He took a bite, leaning back in his seat and shutting his eyes. He seemed a bit tired and out of it and If I had to guess, I'd say that that was the reason for him being that agitated. "Go first." He said, his eyes still shut and I smiled nervously. "I laid in bed all week. It wasn't really interesting." I shrugged and he finally opened his eyes, slowly raising an eyebrow at me. His eyes looked between mine and my head, then his eyes shut again once I answered. "Is that the reason why?" He asked and I nodded slowly, knowing that there was no way around that question as he'd somehow know that I was lying. "But, I'm okay," I said, looking down at my hands. "Everything's okay." I said the last part under my breath, reassuring myself and I saw him take another piece of the muffin, motioning with his hand for me to do the same and I did. "What about your week?" I asked him and he looked at me. "I was out of town." He shrugged and I nodded. "You went on a trip?" I asked and I caught the small smirk that came across his lips before it disappeared. "Something like that." He said, sitting back and I took a sip from my glass, finishing my half after a while and smiling proudly at myself. "I have to go grocery shopping tomorrow." I randomly said, placing my head down on the table. "Grocery shopping is the fun part but standing in line is what I hate the most." He shut his eyes, but I knew that he was listening. "Between me and you," I said, leaning closer as I spoke. "A few old people farted in front of me before." I heard a small chuckle escape his lips and I smiled upon hearing it, looking down at my hands. Time passed by and I did most of the talking, slowly watching his previously angry state change into a more neutral one. "Isn't your driver going to be mad after having to wait this long?" I questioned and he shook his head. "No." He replied and I took the last sip from my glass. "It's five already." I told him and he opened his eyes, checking his watch and nodding. He got up, this time dropping a twenty dollar bill down on the table before I could even get my money and I shook my head, about to say something when he walked to the door and opened it for me. I sighed, walking over and going outside. We walked toward the SUV and the driver got out, coming around and opening the door. Landon stood outside, waiting for me to get in first. I thanked the driver and wondered if he just had rich parents or something, watching he got in on the other side. He said something in a different language that I didn't quite catch then his eyes snapped to mine as I winced from the sharp pains in my stomach. His eyes put me in a trance. I couldn't seem to look away from him and didn't know what to do. Today he wore a plain black shirt and black jeans. His hair was messy, yet tamed and his face was as emotionless as ever. He didn't even bother to hide this side of him with a fake smile and I was actually happy about that. Not many people in this world were this real. As the car passed under the streetlights, the light illuminated his face in the darkness, making his eyes just look like clear orbs. "Will you be at school tomorrow?" I asked and he was silent for a while before he spoke. "Will you?" He asked and I let out a soft laugh. "You can't answer a question with a question." I told him, shaking my head as I couldn't stop laughing. I turned my head toward the door as I fell into a random fit of giggles, trying to hide my face until I sobered up and I heard him chuckle under his breath. After a while, the vehicle made it to my street and I looked over at him as he looked down at his phone briefly. "Again?" He asked and laughing, I leaned back and nodded, watching as without him having to say anything, the driver started driving again. I sank in my seat and when the vehicle stopped driving, I knew that I was home. "Tomorrow?" I asked and he kept looking at me for a while, then he spoke..
