Avril’s POV
I feel as though my heart stops when my best friend collapses. I scream and run towards her, but Lucas holds me back as my brother, her mate, needs to get there first if everyone is to stay sane. As soon as I saw Wesley’s demonic claws dig into her side, I knew there was a big chance that Tori might not survive the challenge. The fact that she took down Wesley is a miracle in itself. The pack doctor runs forward and Aaron proceeds to growl protectively over his mate.
“Aaron.” I say to him. “Let them through. They can help her.” He looks at me, his eyes black. “Vesper.” I beg my brother’s wolf. “Please let them save her.”
