(Disobedient, ungrateful brat) Edwin My eyes flicked up from the papers in front of me to glare at window next to me, where there were two birds perched on a branch outside looking as if they were ready to take flight at any moment. The moon was shining brightly overhead, but the sky appeared cloudless. And not just that - when I looked down, I could see it glowing dimly with some kind of weird glow. There was no light reflecting off of it whatsoever. The glow looked almost magical, and my breath hitched in my throat. It felt almost like magic - maybe I was seeing things but what was worse my beast growling and snarling inside of me , telling me that something was very, very wrong. It was urging me to go outside for some unknown reason . Something was definitely out there. I got up abruptly, making a note on my journal for later, grabbing my jacket and pulling it on in one swift movement, I grabbed the door handle and opened it, stepping out. The cold evening breeze caressed my cheeks aggressively , and I shivered involuntarily as goosebumps erupted across them. The feeling of unease intensified, and I took a deep breath to try and calm myself. As soon as I inhaled deeply. I took a look at everything, from the guards in front of the castle to every other thing. It seemed perfect. Until the wind rustled and I smelled her- we smelled her. It couldn't be possible, she was in her room, right? She had to be there. But her scent was close by somewhere and I followed it without hesitation. It led me straight to the garden. Why the garden? What did that even mean? My heart pounded loudly against my ribs and my beast was growling so loud my ears hurt as he ran faster through my mind, trying to tell me something. Something important - something very, very important. A vision formed in my mind. I followed it through the path of the garden that led to the woods. It couldn't possibly be, she was trying to escape. It dawned on me. Anger suddenly flowed through me and I began to run. I tore through bushes and branches, leaping over fallen leaves and stones as fast as I could. My beast was running at full speed now, the forest floor getting farther and farther beneath my feet and the sound of my footsteps echoing louder and louder, getting closer and closer until they reached her. She began to run as well but she was no match for me. Her breath came out in pants. I slammed into her hard from behind, tackling her to the ground with such force we both crashed onto the dirt. Her head slammed against my shoulder painfully and my teeth clenched together, fighting back the urge to sink them into her neck. The sight of blood rushing down my chin was not helping me focus. “Let me go!” she cried and tried to kick me with her legs. “Let me go! You can’t take control over me! No! Please! Let me go!” she screamed but I couldn’t hear her over the sound of my beast. He was growling loudly. He was mad at her, I was mad at her as well. “Stop this madness!” I yelled in her ear and held her arm still. With my free hand, I grabbed the collar of her dress roughly, forcing the material upwards to expose more of her pale white skin. She struggled harder then and began to bite at my hand, trying to get away. I didn’t have the patience anymore to hold back my anger any longer. “Stop! Stop struggling! or you are going to die! Please! Just shut up!” I yelled at her and pulled my hand back. She stopped biting immediately and began thrashing wildly under my touch. With that I carried her over my shoulders, ignoring her kicks and screams. When I returned to the castle with her, the guards on duty seemed frightened by the sight. “How did she get out?” I asked them. But no one could say anything. “I am talking to you!” I said sharply and the guards flinched, before they looked guiltily at each other. The one who had spoken, however, refused to meet my gaze and avoided answering my question. The others just stood frozen in place, their hands clasped tightly behind their backs. They were afraid of me and what I would do. “I'll be right back” I assured them as they shivered. When I got inside, I threw her a little bit too roughly on the ground and saw her wince. “What did I tell you?” I asked her. “I don't want to be here” She sobbed. I called one of the guards inside. “Take her to the dark dungeon” I ordered him coldly. He looked shocked. The dark dungeon was hell, no one deserved to be there but she did. The anger was still flowing in my veins and I wanted to tear her limb from limb. Not in a physical manner. But that was exactly how I wanted to kill her. “Three days, no food or water” I added. “You can't do that to me, please” She begged and crawled towards me. I stared at her intensely, trying not to let out another growl. It wouldn't be good for anyone if I killed someone in the middle of the Castle. “I won't hesitate to use force if you try to fight me again. Take her away” I commanded and turned my back on her. I heard her whimper and her footsteps retreat into the distance, but I remained standing where I was until I heard the sound of the dungeon closing, signaling the beginning of her new miserable life.
