 They didn't talk much on the way there, mostly because Julia had to focus on watching where she stepped so that she didn't trip over a stray rock or pit in the cobbled roadway in the darkness. There wasn't even a decently bright moon tonight, just a sliver of a crescent and clouds to muffle even that. But there was also the issue of the awkward tension between them. Julia attempted to gauge whether it was only from her end or if Agrippa felt the same way, but no matter how long she stared at him out of the corner of her eye, he never sneaked a glance her way, never seemed anything but intent on leading the way forward.
