Elia took a sip of her drink as she looked at the floor, "There isn't much to say, honestly. I never knew my parents. They died when I was born after an attack from the south," she sighed. "My old pack brought me up, until the Alpha was killed after he was poisoned." Elia took another sip of her drink "When his killer took control of the pack, I was seen as an outcast and learned it was best to keep my head down, or I would get hurt." She took a deep breath "it got so bad one night that I ran, and I didn't look back. I went into the forest and hid. Luckily, Alpha Kane was on a patrol, and he noticed me hiding. I was beaten and bruised, and he took me in and made me part of his pack."
She looked over at the Wolf King and watched as his eyes briefly flashed red. "Your old pack was the crimson rose pack. They used to protect the borders, until Alpha Rick was killed by an Alpha from the south border neighboring ours. And the Southern King stole the land from us." He clenched his fists and a slight growl escaped him "I will kill anyone who hurts my mate!"
Elia placed a hand on his leg. "There is no need for that, Your Majesty. Don't put yourself out for me."
He looked at her with a smile. "Please, call me Micheal."
Elia looked at him with a little shock. "As you wish, Your... I mean Micheal."
Micheal laughed, as someone knocked on the door, "come in" he said, using his work voice.
Beta Alex walked in "I Apologize My King, Alpha Kane wishes to speak with Elia."
"Very well" Micheal said, not taking his eyes off Alex. Elia got up and bowed "I will be back when I finish speaking with my Alpha, Your Majesty."
Micheal did not like how formal she was with him as she left. As the door closed, he felt a pull in his body to go and follow her, to be close to her, but he pushed the feeling down, knowing she would be safe with her Alpha and she had duties to attend to. She may be the mate of the King, but she was still an Omega, until he officially claimed and marked her.
Elia started walking in the direction of Alpha Kanes office, but she was stopped in her tracks when Alex grabbed her arm and pulled her into his office. He pulled the blinds and locked the door, "what are you doing?" Elia said, looking at him startled, "you said Alpha Kane..."
"I lied, Elia. He doesn't want to see you."
"Then why did you pull me away from the King?!" she was a little annoyed by his actions, but she remembered what had happened the night before and started to blush.
"I know you felt it too, Elia, the bond between us. I'm not sure how, but I know you are my mate."
Elia couldn't speak. She knew she felt something, but she pushed it down, thinking she was just another one of his numbers. Everything that happened the night before quickly flashed through her mind. Before she could find her words, Alex was standing in front of her, eyes glowing yellow. He looked at her and pulled her close to him. She could feel how heavily he was breathing, the warmth coming from his core, and her inner wolf stirred. She looked up at Alex, wanting to confirm her feelings. Her eyes flashed blue and she knew. This man was hers too, her mate.
How could this be? How could she have two mates?
She was filled with confusion and was overwhelmed. She tried to pull away from Alex, but he wouldn't let go of her. She wanted to run, scream, get away from all the confusion.
Alex let go of her when a heavy knock hit his door. "Alex, open this door right now!" It was Alpha Kane.
Alex quickly opened the door when Micheal stormed in. He grabbed Alex by the throat and pinned him against the wall.
"HOW DARE YOU!" he growled at him. His eyes were bright red and the need to protect Elia was taking over.
Alex let out a growl as his eyes turned yellow, "She is my mate too!" he said, struggling for breath.
Micheal let go of Alex, shocked by what he said, and Alex fell to the floor. He turned to look at Elia, needing to see her face, but she had gone.
They quickly looked around the house for her, but she was nowhere to be found.
"She can't have gone far," Kane said with a worried look.
"We will search the forest around the mansion. I'm sure she is still close."
