Chapter 2

Piper's Point of View. We walked back over to the camp, Daryl's arm was slung lazily over my shoulders. A few smirks were thrown our way as we made our way to the campfire. It was a cold day today, so the fire was lit and the group was huddled around it. I glanced up at Lori who's smirk was still lingering on her face. I blushed slightly looking away. Daryl and I sat down on an empty log, situated near the fire, his arm still wrapped around my shoulders. I nuzzled into his chest, as the rest of the camp joined us around the fire.  "You okay baby?" Daryl asked, placing his chin on my head. "I'm fine." I mumbled. "Good." Daryl whispered, pulling me closer. Night quickly swept over the camp and we were all residing to our tents. I climbed into mine and Daryl's tent and began untying my boots. Pulling them off, I set them aside before pulling off my shirt.  I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist. I smiled and placed my arms over his. "You okay?" Daryl asked. "How many more times are you gonna ask me that?" I retorted. Daryl laughed and began to place kisses along my shoulder. I smiled and turned in his arms before wrapping my arms around his neck. I kissed his lips lightly then pulled away from him. I grabbed my pyjama shirt and pulled it on before pulling off my denim shorts.  I climbed into my sleeping bag and watched as Daryl pulled off his shirt and trousers leaving him in his boxers.  He climbed into his sleeping bag. I smiled at him as I lay my head on his chest and wrapped my arm around his waist. He wrapped his arm around my shoulders. I kissed his chest before falling into a slumber. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I woke up alone again. Daryl always gets up early to go out hunting. I stretched out my arms before changing into a pair of ripped skinny jeans and a white-ish vest with my flannel shirt on top. I pulled on my boots before climbing out of the tent. I headed over to Amy who was sat by the radio again. "Hello? Hello? Can anybody hear my voice?" A voice suddenly sound. My eyes snapped up to the radio. Amy grabbed grabbed the speaker. "Hey? Hello?" She called. "Can you hear my voice?" The male voice asked,  obviously not hearing Amy. "Yes, I can hear you. You're coming through. Over." Amy said loudly. The next sentence came through, fuzzy and unclear. "We're just outside the city. Damnit. Hello?" Silence. "Hello?" Amy called again but there was only silence. "He couldn't hear me. I couldn't warn him." Amy sighed, a sad look on her face. Dale walked over to the radio.  "Try to raise him again." He suggested. "Come on, son. You know best how to work this thing." He then said to Shane who walked over to the radio. He took it from Amy.  "Hello, hello, is the person who calls still on the air? This is officer Shane Walsh, broadcasting a person unknown, please respond." Shane said before another moment of silence followed. Shane shook his head and put the radio down. "He's gone." He sighed. Just then, Lori walked over with Carl.  "There are others. It's not just us." She said.  "Yeah, We knew there would be, right, that's why we let the CB on." Shane stated.  "Lots of good it's been doing. And I've been saying for a week, we ought to put signs up on 85 to warn people away from the city." Lori snapped.  "Folks got no idea what they're getting into." Amy added.  "We don't have enough time." Shane snapped back.  "I think we need to make time." I retorted.  "Yeah, that, uh... That's a luxury we can't afford. We are surviving here. We are day to day." Shane said, glaring at me but I just glared right back.  "And who the hell would you propose to send?" Dale asked.  "I'll go. Give me a vehicle." I said.  "Nobody goes anywhere alone, you know that." Shane snapped at me.  "Yes, sir." I mumbled, rolling my eyes. Lori scoffed before walking away. Carl went to follow but Shane stopped him.  "Hey, hey, hey, come on, take a sit, buddy. You're alright, go on, you're alright." He ordered Carl, who sat down next to Amy. I sighed before sitting back down in my seat. I sat there in silence, staring at the radio, hoping that Daryl would come back soon. The day rolled on and evening set in. I was sat on top of the camper van, staring out into the tree, when a voice suddenly came over the radio.  "Hello, base camp! Can anybody out there hear me? Base camp, this is T-Dog. Anybody hear me?" T-Dog's voice sounded. I stood up as Dale rushed to grab the radio. "Hello? Hello? Reception's bad on this end. Repeat. Repeat." He called. The next part came through fuzzy as we began to loose reception.  "Is that them?" I asked.  "We're...some..shit. We're trapped...the department store." T-Dog's voice came through choppy.  "He said they're trapped?" Shane asked.  "There...geeks all over...place. Hundreds...We're surrounded."   "T-Dog, repeat that last. Repeat." Dale called, but we got nothing, no reply. I sighed and put my head in my hands.  "He said the department store." Lori said to Shane.  "I heard it too." Dale agreed. I stood and looked down at Shane who was silent.  "Shane?" I snapped.  "No way. We do not go after them. We do not risk the rest of the group. Y'all know that." He said, shaking hos head. I scoffed at him before sitting down. "So we're just gonna leave her there?" Amy asked, talking about Andrea.  "Look, Amy, I know that this is not easy..." "She volunteered to go, to help the rest of us." Amy argued, cutting Shane off.  "I know, and she knew the risks, right? See, if she's trapped, she's gone. So we just have to deal with that. There's nothing we can do." Shane said sternly.  "She's my sister, you son of a bitch." Amy cried before running off. Lori glared at Shane before following Amy. I closed my eyes and waited, just like everyone else. Today was gonna be a long day.  I hope you enjoyed this chapter!! Please vote and Comment!! Loves Ya!!!!
