AVERY’S eyebrows furrowed as she walked in. “Have you been waiting for me?”
Jamie’s face turned sheepish. “Maybe. You’re hurt, remember?” He shot a pointed look at her foot.
Avery only looked at his still scratched feet in return. He’d only bandaged them for a few hours, so now the angry red lines stood out on his pale skin.
