“You're late!" Elena exclaimed, her dark eyebrows raised high.
“I know, I know, I'm sorry," Avery breathed, hurrying into the house. She hefted her bag higher on her shoulder. “Class ended a bit late, I came as soon as I could."
“We've all been waiting," Adi added, popping up from seemingly nowhere.
She shot him a look. “Thanks for the information. I'm just gonna—"
Elena directed her to the kitchen.
Inside, she found Alex, who'd apparently taken up cooking as a new hobby, according to a highly annoyed Jamie. Jamie and Min were also there, looking like they were doing most of the grunt work and not looking happy about it.
Jamie looked up as soon as she came in. “Great, Avery's here. Hi, Avery!" He waved at her before pulling Alex bodily out of the kitchen.
“Thank God," Min muttered
