Why had he called her? He, more than anyone, knew how risky that was. He’d completely agreed when she’d f*******n anyone to call—so why had he done it? He would’ve only called if it was an emergency, right?
She pursed her lips and shot him a quick text. Why did you call? I almost got in big trouble, was it urgent?
She hoped it wasn’t urgent. What if—what if something had happened to Jamie? What if that was why he had called?
Her heart thudding, she texted Jamie as well. How are you? Are you okay?
