Bea’s eyes popped as she thought about that. She glanced from Mrs. Timm’s face to Angel’s face, then out the window. “Y-you mean he flew … l-like a bird? Like … that bird?” She pointed out the window. They all looked. Angel nodded. Mrs. Timm nodded. “Wow.” Bea nodded. Bathroom. Nice that Clarence and Mrs. Timm’s bedroom had a private bathroom, plus the office had one, too. Katty opened the door. Industrial pine was strong this morning. Must have just cleaned. Naw. It always smelled that way. Cleanest place on the planet. She finished her business and stared at herself in the mirror as she washed her hands. Those eyes staring back at her were accusing. They accused her of what they knew she planned to do, immediately after she dried her hands. Her head swiveled from side to side.
