Chapter 35: Approach

1101 Words
Scarlet did not feel like joking around with Hades at that moment. Because she is responsible for a significant amount of transfer work today, her disposition is particularly gloomy. She wanted nothing more than to get back to her home as soon as possible, crawl into her cozy bed, and doze off until morning. Scarlet was forced to abandon the idea of going back to her house because of the unexpected arrival of both Hades' parents and her parents. Originally, she had intended to go back there, but now she cannot. After giving it some thought, Scarlet has concluded that it would be unwise for her to relocate; to avoid arousing the suspicion of her parents on both sides of the family, she needs to take measures to protect herself in this community. Scarlet was forced to make her way back to this room despite that she did not want to. She was already annoyed and was greeted with Hades' joking face. Scarlet was so rattled that she threw Hades her coat in an attempt to regain her composure. Scarlet would have to give thanks to heaven and earth a thousand times over if that shirt was heavy enough to crush the unpleasant face that Hades was wearing. Scarlet: "I have to go rest, and I don't want to talk to you right now; this is not your room. If there is something that needs to be said, then you should wait until tomorrow to say it. "I know you are exhausted today, the same goes for me," Hades said. "I want to find you so that we can both have a glass of wine because I know that both of us are feeling physically and mentally drained as a result of the work that we have been doing. Wine is going to show off its incredible strength right now." Scarlet glanced at the table and saw that, as she had anticipated, many expensive fine wines were waiting for her there. But a gift that arrives out of nowhere isn't exactly ideal. Scarlet is unsure whether or not Hades wants to be this proactive with her because she still has a lot of questions for herself. "Alcohol is a good thing to help balance emotions, but alcohol should still be drunk with someone you love," said Scarlet. "Although alcohol is beneficial in this way, it should not be consumed alone. Hades, I do not think it would be a good idea for me to drink with someone like you." Hades: "At first, everything will seem strange. You don't need to be so wary of me because I will not cause you any harm. Simply put, I've been so exhausted today that all I want to do is find someone to have a drink with." Scarlet scowled and said: "Why are you drinking with me instead of your little concubine? I don't understand. If she finds out that you are staying in my room and you offer me a drink, she will most likely go completely insane. Do you seriously intend to make her angry?" He was unconcerned and responded in a collected manner, "I know you are not the talkative type. In addition, Ellie is very submissive and patient, so I don't have to worry about her giving me a hard time." Scarlet shrugged. She did not go back to sit in Hades' chair; rather, she removed her jewelry while sitting at the dressing table on her own. The mirror reflected Scarlet's stunning appearance from head to toe. Although gentle in appearance, sharpness can still be seen. Scarlet's fiery red hair, with a few strands of it gently falling down her back. Eyes that were closed, transparent emerald green in color, and tired. She let out a deep sigh before slowly removing the pearl earrings that she had been wearing on her ears. She felt relieved as if the stress that had been weighing on her shoulders had been lifted. Ever since then, when Scarlet wasn't paying attention, Hades came up to where she was sitting and grabbed the hand that was holding the earring. Scarlet didn't even realize what was happening. He removed the other earring from its setting and slipped it into the recognizable velvet box. Scarlet opened her eyes with a look of bewilderment on her face. The fact that Hades cared about her made her anxious. Hades persevered in the process of removing the other earring. The clasp of Scarlet's necklace was undone gradually as Hades' hand glided over her thin neck and undid the knots. Every motion is performed with extreme caution and tenderness as if Scarlet's skin were a priceless relic. Scarlet: “What do you want from me?” Hades approached her from behind and placed his hands on her shoulder blades while smiling. "I want to drink with you. Is that Okay?" She was staring at a wine-filled crystal wine glass, and it was in front of her eyes. The owner of the glass had placed the gorgeous red wine inside, where it was resting peacefully and waiting to be consumed. Instead of picking up the wine glass, Scarlet leaned back and focused her attention on Hades. "What do you want, say it. Because of the tremendous amount of respect I have for you, I have been sitting here and having a drink with you. It is in your best interest not to go beyond the limit that I have set." Hades laughed, but his laughter was tinged with regret as he continued: "It's sad, I thought I got sympathy from you, but it seems that everything is just my illusion." After giving him a look, Scarlet picked up the wine glass and drained it in one swift motion. Its delicious flavor rushed through her neck and into her stomach, which was otherwise empty, causing an explosion within Scarlet's stomach. But Scarlet's heart was unaffected by the pain; instead, she stared at Hades's features for a moment before slamming the glass down on the table. She inquired, "Are you interested in discussing Ellie?" She articulated Hades' ideas openly and honestly. Hades, too, didn't appear to be taken aback by Scarlet's forthright manner of speaking. Even so, he couldn't help but be a little relieved that she was happy with who she was. "Yes, I want to talk to you about Ellie," Hades said. Scarlet: "What is it that you would like to talk about?" Hades: “There are a lot of issues I think you and I need to discuss. Of course, I will summarize them and not take you much time.”
