Scarlet jolted awake with a start, her forehead covered in a thick layer of sweat, and her eyes, which were still half-closed and staring at the ceiling, full of unconscious drowsiness. Scarlet's shoulders were exposed, and a few strands of her wet, perspiring hair fell casually onto them. Her hair was covered in sweat. She pressed her hands firmly together and squished her young face down into the crevices between them. The sound of labored breathing could be heard clearly throughout the entire space.
After what seemed like an eternity, Scarlet's anxiety finally subsided.
Her eyes had changed, but there was still something that looked like exhaustion in them. She inhaled deeply, turned the blanket over, and then placed one foot on the ground before taking another step.
As soon as Scarlet's bare feet made contact with the ground, a blast of icy air rushed into her lungs and consumed her breath in an instant.
The flimsy nightgown was draped over her body in a carefree manner. The straps slid off of her slim, white shoulders and fell, artfully exposing a stretch of her silky, alluring skin.
Scarlet absently fixed her gaze forward while absently stroking her hair.
She couldn't remember the last time she dreamed about Devilin, but for some reason, she did so now. Damn dream.
That man, who resembled a monster, was the source of her never-ending nightmares, which engulfed her spirit.
"Why, after all these years, are those memories still as vivid as they were? This is an terrible sensation... I don't know how much longer I have to put up with this on my own." She mumbled something under her breath, clearly irritated by what was happening.
Just now, Scarlet had to scramble to find a way out of her nightmare with Devilin. She had been trapped there for quite some time. She regressed to the time when she had a romantic relationship with Devilin. Scarlet must first enjoy happiness with him and then watch as Devilin methodically devises a scheme to hurt the one she loves most in the world. He insisted over and over that he was the one who loved her the most, but it was abundantly clear that he was never content simply to be by her side on his own. Devilin yearns for more; he desires to have her by his side for the rest of his life, and at the same time, he yearns to have additional women to satiate the mediocre lust in his heart.
She gave me a sardonic grin. The discomfort that Devilin is still experiencing is the same as before. He used Scarlet's love as a weapon to subdue and control her body as well as her mind. Every day that she spends with Devilin, Scarlet has the uneasy feeling that the man is attempting to brainwash her or find a way to manipulate her psychology to keep her from leaving him permanently.
Scarlet reprimanded Devilin, saying, "You are such a dirty worm. It was inappropriate for you to show up in my presence at this point. I have previously cautioned you; why do you persist in making an appearance in my presence?"
The dryness in the throat caused Scarlet to grimace slightly. The throat was slightly uncomfortable. Her physical being was undoubtedly altered as a result of the nightmare.
After giving it some more thought, Scarlet concluded that she should open the door and proceed downstairs to the wine room for a few drinks.
She lowered herself to the floor, allowing her butt to brush against the table, before gracefully raising her head to take a sip from her glass of wine. Scarlet's mouth was filled with a flavor that was sweet and slightly acrid, and it was like an emotional kiss that calmed her uneasy mood. The flavor that can easily provoke others urges those who are provoked to quickly let go of their boundaries and fall. Scarlet did not break the pattern, as evidenced by the fact that she consumed more alcohol than usual today.
When she looked up, her vision was obscured by a haze, and just then, the door slowly opened on its own, and a tall man suddenly stepped inside.
Scarlet flashed her husband a sultry smile that came from the depths of her soul and asked, "Dear husband, why are you here?"
Hades was taken aback by Scarlet's gentle and soothing words, and he was left in a state of mild disbelief when he heard them. A few seconds later, Hades recognized that Scarlet was intoxicated based on the way her body was leaning, as well as the fact that the things she was saying and doing were unconscious.
He couldn't help but feel a little letdown, but at the same time, he was relieved. When he saw Scarlet suddenly become so charming, he went into complete panic. Because he wasn't sure how much longer he could keep his cool if Scarlet continued to behave in this manner.
Scarlet's cheeks had a faint pink hue to them. She laughed gracefully while covering her mouth and asked her husband, "Dear husband, why are you standing here and looking at me with such a puzzled look? Is it that difficult to recognize me at this very moment?"
She moved her hand in front of her chest, her form looking as cute and cuddly as that of a lovely kitten that was approaching Hades.
The aroma of alcohol combined with the soft scent was on her body, producing an extremely alluring scent. A whiff that, in an instant, can drive a man completely insane.
Hades quickly took control of his mind and then clung to Scarlet's shoulder, preventing her from approaching him any further. Scarlet was unable to get any closer to Hades.
Hades: "Scarlet, you're drunk, you let me take you to your room."
Scarlet c****d her head to the side and leaned her cheek against Hades' hand as she did so. The disparity in temperature brought about an even greater sense of separation between the two.
She clenched her teeth and pulled her face into a scowl, clearly indicating that the words Hades had just spoken made her feel uneasy.
Scarlet asked, "Why are you saying things like that...?" in an angry tone. "You are causing me distress."
