Chapter 23: Unauthorized appearance

Tulip: "Dearest girl, I've been thinking about you a lot."

Scarlet was similarly delighted, as evidenced by the charming semicircle formed by her eyes and the radiant smile that spread across her lovely face. She is comparable to a naive adolescent daughter who has spent a significant amount of time away from home but has now returned to her family.

“Mom, I miss you too.”

Greenarn, Scarlet's father, was standing next to her, and he was in the same joyful mood. He reached out and gently stroked Scarlet's head while speaking some loving words to her in a low voice. He made his way over to Hades and gave him a few taps on the shoulder before turning to look at him.

Greenarn: "Hi, how are you doing?"

Hades took his hand and nodded: “I'm fine these days. Besides, I'm the one who needs to ask about your health, not the two of you who need to ask about my health."

Greenarn laughed and said, "Okay, I guess that makes us all human. The state of one's health is the single most important aspect of one's life. You can accomplish anything as long as your health allows it, but if your health fails, there is nothing you can do."

Scarlet extended her hand in front of her, grabbed Greenarn by the hand, and led him into the room.

"Parents, please make your way inside, find a comfortable spot, and spend some time chatting with us. You two have been gone for a considerable amount of time, and we haven't seen each other in a considerable amount of time."

The chaste and childlike quality of Scarlet's smile was immediately apparent. Hades had the distinct impression that Scarlet was not faking her happiness with that smile; rather, it was a genuine expression of joy. As it turned out, the icy and astute woman sitting next to him was a woman with a sweetness comparable to that of sugar candy.

Scarlet gave Hades a sidelong glance before making a hand signal to him before following her parents inside the house.

They were all laughing and having a good time chatting with one another. Hades didn't contribute all that much to their conversation, but he did offer a few comments here and there whenever it was appropriate.

The enjoyable conversation continued up until it was time for dinner. While everything was going swimmingly, all of a sudden, Ellie materialized out of nowhere.

Scarlet's heart skipped a beat when she saw Ellie come in from the outside. Ellie's homely appearance was a move that provoked Scarlet's patience.

Scarlet and Hades were both in a state of shock. He was rushing to get up when all of a sudden Scarlet grabbed his hand and pinned him to the ground.

Scarlet's eyes narrowed in a startlingly abrupt manner as she slowly stood up and moved toward Ellie.

Ellie smiled sweetly as she gazed at Scarlet with a childlike expression on her face.

Ellie's hand was suddenly pulled into the room by Scarlett, who had suddenly moved closer.

"Ellie, what brings you to this place?"

Ellie was caught off guard, and her smile became strained as a result. Scarlet was able to see through her scheme to harass and was successful in foiling it from the very beginning. She turned her attention to Hades, who gave her an extremely irate look in response. Even though Ellie had already mentally prepared herself to take the blame for what happened to Hades, when she saw his eyes, she couldn't help but feel sorry for her.

She bolstered her confidence and reminded herself that the situation would eventually improve. Hades is the man in the world who adores his lover the most and spoils her the most. He will gladly forgive her for anything she does and will not hold it against her. Ellie had this internal thought. Almost immediately after that, Ellie flashed Scarlet a happy smile of her own.

"I came to this place to see both you and your husband. Have you forgotten? You both invited me to join you for dinner here tonight."

Scarlet was giving Ellie a severe reprimand on the inside, but from the outside, she appeared to have a sweet and docile demeanor toward Ellie. She smiled brightly and replied casually.

"Oh, of course, that's the case. We have failed to remember this very important thing, both me and my husband."

Tulip took in Ellie's entire appearance before narrowing her eyes, pausing for a brief period of reflection, and then speaking.

"Are you Ellie, the famous showbiz star?"

Ellie: "I'm glad to meet you, my name is Ellie, and I'm an actress."

Tulip's face contorted in pain as she recalled the other people who hung out with Scarlet and realized that none of them had ever resembled an entertainment star like Ellie. Because Scarlet detests the constant activity that characterizes the entertainment industry, she goes out of her way to avoid interacting with those who come from it.

Greenarn looked at Ellie as well, and it was clear that he was thinking the same thing as his wife. Greenarn decided to maintain his silence and focus on gaining a better understanding of the predicament because he was not a talkative person.

Tulip stood up and shook hands with Ellie elegantly. She looked at Ellie's comfortably dressed form and was puzzled.

"The way that young people dress these days is very different from the way that I dressed when I was their age. The former version of myself would have never dared to imagine that I would be so relaxed about my appearance when I went to the home of another person."

Ellie smiled seductively as she glanced at the dress she was wearing and then looked down. This was the dress that she had her eye on for a very long time. The silk dress has a form-fitting silhouette that clings closely to the wearer's body, highlighting all of its sensual curves. The low neckline of her dress left her breasts, which were full and white, partially visible. She has long hair that is curled in a way that gives the impression that she has just woken up, with big, bouncy curls. Beautiful in and of itself, but this beauty is far too erotic to be worn when visiting the homes of other people to play.

"This particular style of mine is also not always in vogue," said Ellie. It was only because Hades and Scarlet invited me to their house for dinner today that I decided to wear it."

Tulip's arms were crossed because she did not believe Ellie's words. She had the intuition of a woman, and she knew that Ellie was going to be more to her daughter than just a regular friend. There is most certainly something peculiar about the situation the woman finds herself in.

"I found it to be quite interesting." Tulip gave Scarlet a thoughtful look before saying, "If your friend is here, then invite your friend to sit down and have a meal with you. The meal has barely begun when you arrived."

Hades was just staring at Ellie in silence. When he sees Ellie going above and beyond, he is doing his best to keep his temper in check. Hades is not an i***t, and he is aware of Ellie's reasons for engaging in this behavior.

Scarlet took hold of Ellie's arm, cheerfully escorted her to the seat next to him, and allowed her to take a seat there.

"Okay, Ellie. Since you are also my guest today, you are more than welcome to eat with me."

Ellie nodded, consciously directing her gaze to Hades as she did so. Her beautiful, alluring eyes were directed upward at him.

Tulip smiled awkwardly while narrowing his eyes. Her tone could be described as cynical and sarcastic at the same time.

"Our society is in shambles at the moment. Scarlet, do you have any idea which type of woman is currently receiving the most backlash?"

Scarlet nodded and responded, "I know," indicating that she had understood what her mother had meant.

"The kind of woman who has sky-high ambitions makes people feel extremely angry," said Tulip. This type of woman has the mentality that because she is beautiful, she is entitled to anything and everything she wants. However, they will never be aware of how pitiful and corrupt they are on the inside."

Scarlet chuckled before responding, "Yes, I also agree with your opinion. When I come across people like that, all I want to do is avoid them as much as possible."

Hades slowly closed his eyes, not having the courage to contradict a single word that was said. Ellie believed that Hades did not love her even though Hades' silence had initially been employed to ensure her safety. She had no choice but to be publicly attacked by Tulip and Scarlet, so she mustered the courage to defend herself against it.

Ellie: “What kind of woman? Hearing these words made me feel a bit sad. Every woman in this world when she appears is worthy of respect. We cannot judge a person by a few encounters. People's subjectivity will make people's views unfair."

Tulip: "From my vantage point, everyone sees things differently. It is contingent on a great number of different things. Consider factors such as history, education, personality, and so on. This disordered world is not inherently fair to anyone, because if it were fair, people wouldn't have to suffer from the consequences of their actions."

Ellie: "Yes, you are completely not incorrect in any way. On the other hand, the reason why people try to stand up for themselves and get what they want is that the system is fair."

Tulip: "Are you able to get what you desire? These are some seriously potent words."

With a grin on her face, Ellie said, "Of course, life is like that. I will make an effort to retrieve what rightfully belongs to me. Nobody will be able to stop me from carrying out this plan."

Tulip's eyes narrowed as he stared at Ellie for an extended period, and he gave her a sly smile.

Scarlet had a strong desire to pry open Ellie's head and find out what the latter was considering on the inside. The unexpected appearance of Ellie made the situation incredibly uncomfortable. It would appear that Ellie's appearance was not the result of a mistake, but rather a deliberate plan that she had made in advance. This woman should be avoided at all costs.

She cast a glance in Hades' direction and quietly cautioned him to maintain his silence.

Scarlet was very concerned that her parents would notice anything unusual about her behavior. The husband-wife relationship that is established by a marriage contract ought to be preserved in its entirety.

Scarlet was disruptive, shifting the focus of the conversation in a new and unexpected direction. She cheerfully helped her parents with the meal preparations and then began telling stories that she thought were interesting. Because Scarlet knew that Ellie would never have access to the topics she just discussed, all of the ones she discusses are related to business, politics, and academics.

It was Hades who took the seat at the head of the table, followed by Scarlet, and then Ellie.

Ellie was left out of the conversation that the other people in the room were having, which made her feel extremely irritated. She is also aware that Scarlet chooses topics that she is not particularly knowledgeable about on purpose to make things more challenging for her. Ellie all of a sudden experienced a twinge of self-consciousness, and she made a solemn vow to herself that as soon as this meal was finished, she would return here and begin conducting additional research regarding the topics Scarlett had just discussed.

She c****d her head to the side as she looked at Hades. Despite this, he focused intently on his meal, and she didn't once catch him turning to look at her. Ellie was impatient and eager to get his attention, so she purposefully slipped her hand around Scarlet's back and touched Hades's hand. This was done because she was impatient and anxious to get his attention.

Scarlet witnessed Ellie's unexpected display of bravado and quickly responded by leaning back against the chair's arm to thwart Ellie's plans. Scarlet was successful in her mission.

Ellie was in a great deal of distress, but she was required to retract her hand out of obedience.

Scarlet never again disengaged her back from the support of the chair after that incident. She engaged in conversation with everyone, acting as a buffer between Ellie and Hades, thereby ensuring that everything ran smoothly and ended on a positive note.

The meal has come to an end. Scarlet said her final words to both of her parents. When Scarlet saw the figure of the car driving away, that was also the moment when the smile that had been on her face started to gradually fade away.

"Slap."

Ellie received a slap directly to the face. The blow was delivered with such speed that Hades and Ellie did not even have the opportunity to react to it.

Almost immediately after that, Ellie let out a scream, and Hades ran to grab Ellie and prevent her from approaching Scarlet. At this point, he was unable to defend Ellie. Ellie worked herself up into an emotional and irrational state.

"Elllie, take a deep breath, and don't be so abrupt."

Scarlet was unable to contain her anger any longer, and she angrily reprimanded Hades.

“I told you from the very beginning. Your story and the story of your mistress I don't care. But we mustn't let this get to our parents' ears. You've already accepted it, why would your mistress come out here and make a mess?"

Ellie emerged from behind Hades, raised her voice, and angrily glared at Scarlet's face while reprimanding her.

"The spot where you can sit was my place in the beginning. You brazenly stole from me, and now you dare to blame me?"
