Chapter 9: Refusing to give up

1026 Words
When Ellie put pressure on the girl in black's head, the girl's reaction was understandably not a happy one. She was confused about the necessity of submitting to July's authority. She yanked Ellie's hand away as she angrily reprimanded her. "Don't put that much pressure on my head. Why do we feel obligated to offer an apology to that woman? It is she who is in the incorrect position; not us." Ellie said seriously: "Vane, you need to make amends with Mrs. Arkin as soon as possible. The one who is in the wrong here is me, not her; Mrs. Arkin was my teacher because she genuinely cared about doing what was best for me." Vane displayed a slight frown as she stood there for approximately one minute looking blankly at July's face. When Vane realized that July was someone else, a sudden deluge of information rushed through her mind, and she was forced to snap out of her daze as quickly as possible. She had such terrible luck that she accidentally made contact with a character that she wasn't supposed to. Suddenly, Vane's demeanor shifted, and she trembled as she lowered herself to the ground. Her stumbling voice managed to overpower her earlier craziness. "I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were Mrs. Arkin," she apologized. Vane swore that if she had known about July's identity from the beginning, even if Ellie had been beaten up by July in this place, she wouldn't have dared to stand up for her. Even if Ellie had been beaten up by July in this place, Vane wouldn't have dared to stand up for her. The fact that events transpired in this manner is directly attributable to Vane's rash and precipitous nature. July stood with her arms crossed and her piercing eyes mockingly fixed on Vane and Ellie. The atmosphere quickly deteriorated as a result of her mocking expression. Scarlet couldn't help but sigh as she stood next to her and watched her. It had been her intention from the beginning to get out of here as soon as humanly possible, but it appeared that doing so would not be as straightforward as she had anticipated. As a result of July's haughtiness, she won't be able to let this go, which may lead to an unfriendly reminder in the future. July: “What, now that you know who I am, did you change your attitude? Didn't you just a few minutes ago slander me and my daughter-in-law?" Vane stammered, she tried to calm herself down but failed. "I'm sorry if I offended you in any way. Everything turned out to be a big misunderstanding." July suddenly burst out laughing, and the nervousness in the room was amplified by her caustic laugh. "Stop making such amusing statements. Naturally, I questioned how you would behave toward me if you knew that I did not come from a wealthy upper-class family." Vane shivered, and she was sweating so much that it looked like it was raining. The nerves in her head suddenly became abnormally taut, and she noticed that the muscles in her mouth had begun to stop responding to the words she was saying. It went mute and defied all attempts to elicit a response from it. Vane abruptly turned around to look at Ellie, pleading for her friend's assistance with her eyes as she did so. Ellie was trapped inside of this sweltering fire pit and could not get out. She was well aware that despite the absence of Vane's company, July would never forgive her and Vane. She continued her plea in a hushed tone, pleading with July to let her and her companion go. "We apologize, Mrs. Arkin, for the carelessness of our actions. You and Scarlet are not going to come to any harm from our actions. This whole thing is based on a misunderstanding." July persisted in her efforts; she did not give up. “How could it be a misunderstanding? The superstar's friend said words of great damage, which broke my heart into many pieces. I feel uncomfortable and I can't keep my discomfort inside." The two groups started arguing verbally with one another, and the tension in the air gradually increased until it reached its peak. It used to be that only VIPs were allowed in this area, which is why there weren't that many guests, but because the incident continued for such a long time, it eventually drew a significant number of visitors to the location. They came here to get a better understanding of what was taking place, which is the primary reason why they came. And perhaps most importantly, they came because July had arrived. A few friends of July's who were very close to her went up to her and greeted her in an extremely cordial manner. "Hello, my dear friend, July," said Kiasern. The older woman, who was in her late sixties, gave July a warm embrace before taking her hand and gently stroking it. July turned to look at the newcomer, smiled at them, and gave them a friendly greeting in return. The lady who was standing next to Kiasern also nodded to July. Her demeanor was respectful and dignified, which indicated that she came from a less trivial background. July took Scarlet by the hand and led her over to meet her other two close friends. "For what purpose have you all gathered here?" July was curious. The two of them proudly displayed their purchases and then questioned one another about July's choices. “What is going on here? Your daughter-in-law seems to have been soiled by someone." Kiasern spoke up despite her regrets, her bright eyes never leaving Scarlet while she was wearing her pure white dress. July showed her displeasure by crossing her arms and nodding. Ellie was the target of her angry gaze as she pointed her finger at her slowly. “This is caused by this superstar girl and her friend. I was wanting the superstar to apologize to my daughter-in-law, but her friend came madly and insulted me. Now the two of them are acting out a dramatic, infuriating play of misunderstanding.”
