CHAPTER 7 (..almost caught...)
LISA'S
His words hung in the air and that made me smirk. Isn't it touching? I mean, I actually get to see his reaction. He looks like he meant every damn word.
Well, too bad, because it's just way too late.
I looked at Justin, who was breathing hard but still refusing to look away from Cyrus.
"What's that supposed to mean? I think maybe you just lost your senses," Cyrus said.
Cyrus's voice echoed, dark and very malicious. I believe that this day had turned out to be the most interesting day.
"I think I just heard myself. I'm not letting her go to work. She is supposed to stay here to take care of me and perform house duties as a wife," Justin spoke, and my eye twitched.
Seriously? Me, a housewife to serve him? That was years ago. Right now, I'll do whatever I want.
"Babe, I think you should sit down. I'll make you feel better. She is not worthy of you," Vanessa added.
I looked at Mr. King. He only ate his food. What I really love about him is the way he always stayed calm under dire situations.
But Beth looked like she could destroy both me and Stonia. She'd seriously murder me and throw my casket.
Just then I heard a scratch, and I looked to my side. It was Cyrus. He stood from his chair, his plate still full, and it seemed like the only thing finished was his water.
"Don't be late," he muttered, and my eyes pierced deep into his figure as he departed. The legs of his chair scraped against marble, too loud in the quiet room.
Stonia finally spoke. "My love, don't you think maybe you are doing too much? First by giving the company to Cyrus, and now giving Lisa a job."
"Nonsense. I've never seen Lisa complain, and I feel like she really deserves to have something keeping her company," Mr. King replied.
Then he tilted his head toward me. "I feel like she and Cyrus might be a perfect team."
Every word was like music to my ears.
"But Rom—" Stonia started.
"I've never heard my son complain, so why are you complaining?" he cut her off, finally looking at his wife. "I've made my decision, and it's final. If you feel like you don't agree with it, then you might as well leave."
I secretly looked at Stonia and stuck out my tongue at her a little. It feels good to finally taunt her.
I stood from the table and walked out of the room. I also carried my bag with me. My heels clicked on the floor. One wrong step and the whole house would hear.
Cyrus had already left, meaning I'd have to grab a cab.

KING'S JEWELRIES
....An hour later_
.
The elevator felt like a countdown. Each floor closer to him. Each second closer to the moment I'd been planning for months. The cable hummed. 27… 28… 29… My reflection in the metal doors looked calm. I wasn't.
The executive floor didn't have as many people, but I just felt a bit nervous because it's my first time here. I could feel the eyes of everyone in the room, and it was a bit unsettling. A secretary glanced up, then quickly looked back at her screen. Footsteps echoed from the corridor behind me. Too close.
I get it, I'm a lady and I love attention, but then, not this much.
I walked to a door. It was written: CEO and I smirked at it.
I opened the door, and f**k there he was, sitting and staring at the door as if he was expecting me.
His cologne filled my lungs. I walked in and closed the door softly. The click echoed, louder than it should have. I took a walk to his desk , I never sat down. My pulse was in my throat.
"Heard you summoned me. Is there any problem, Mr. King?" My voice was slow and really seductive.
"You're late." His voice hit me before his eyes did.
It's 8:59 AM. "I'm punctual."
"You and I know that this isn't about having a job. I know you want something more than just a job, and I don't know what you're playing, but you'll regret it," he warned .
"If I may ask, Cyrus, what are you implying? What game are you talking about?" I asked.
My eyes blinked, and I pouted.
I walked toward his chair. He just sat there and watched me as if he wanted to see what I was trying to do.
"I think we both know what we want, Cyrus. I'm only waiting for your command," I said sitting on his laps .
But what I didn't expect was for him to hold my waist. I looked into his eyes.
FINALLY! They showed lust. I finally got to read his eyes
He smirked darkly. "Fine then, I'll play."
The way he was holding me, was as if I was really going to run.
"So is this how married women play? You jus decided to come and actually cheat on your husband with his own damn brother," he whispered. His voice was low, but every word cut.
I could hear the sound of his breathing changing when I shifted. The tension was thick enough to touch. Outside the office, a phone rang once down the hall and stopped. Someone’s footsteps slowed near the door. Then moved away. Or did they?
The air in the room was thick with tension and unspoken words. The AC hummed. My own breathing sounded too loud.
But then someone ruined it, because before I could proceed, Beth's voice sounded.
She opened the door slowly , and I only grunted.
I tried to free my self from Cyrus but he looked like didn't budge. He looked in my eyes and I glared at him.
"You want us to get caught?!
"Yes , wouldn't that make things more fun kitten?
"You're messed up , let me go or...
I trailed off after hearing the creak from the door.
She opened the door slowly , and I only grunted.
"Brother Cyrus, I came to see you."
