From rival to romance

Emily's eyes sparkled as she stood before her father, her heart racing with anticipation. Her mother, Mrs. Smith, had been persuading him for weeks to let Emily move to the city for better opportunities.

"Dad, please reconsider," Emily pleaded. "I promise to focus on my studies and make you proud."

Her father, Mr. Smith, sighed, his expression softening. "Your mother has convinced me, Emily. You can go to the city, but with your elder sister, Rachel, as your guardian."

Emily's face lit up. "Thank you, Dad!"

Mrs. Smith smiled, her eyes shining with tears. "I'll miss you, dear, but this is for your future."

Emily was so happy that she could hold her tears ,she allowed them flow like streams . Her mind went to imagining life in the city then she went to her best friend house ,piper to inform her about the good news,piper was so happy for her and at the same time felt sad because her best friend is about to leave just her in the countryside,Emily understood this also and told piper that she could come join her in the city later on and piper thought it was a good idea for her also ,the two friends gist and chat till evening and wish not to let go again but Emily's heart already dwells in the city.

It's a new cell and bright day for Emily as her dream is about to come true ,she spent the night packing her best cloth which she will wear to the city and this made her sleep really late and making wake late ,after she got it from the bed,she went to wash her face and went out of her room to meet the whole family. As she went out she met many people outside their house , Wondering what they are in her house for with a questioning look her mother Mrs Mary Richard came out also and explained to her that they are here to bid her goodbye on her journey to the city. In Oakdale, whenever one's child is moving to the city it is always celebrated like a huge success among themselves.

Emily mother told her to start preparing that her father spoke to one of his friend in the city and he already got them a room apartment to settle down in,Emily heart was full of gratitude that she could not hide it as she hugged her mother so tight ,"I'll make you and father proud I promise",Emily said with tears on her eyes . Emily went to her room to prepare herself for the journey ahead ,she wore the city gown her mother's friend bought for her as a birthday gift and it looks pretty on her 😊 making her feel more confident of herself,she let her hair down and put on a bow she got herself months pass .

Sophia,Emily sister is also well dressed in a long gown her mother got for her packing her hair in a pony tale making her look more young and pretty ,the two packed their luggage out ready for the journey ahead . Emily's father used it old cab to take them to the park where they took a bus going to the city Langford.

The journey to the city was filled with excitement and nervousness. Emily's thoughts wandered to her new life:

"What if I don't make friends? What if the city is too overwhelming?"

As they navigated through the winding roads, Emily marveled at:

1. Billboards advertising trendy brands and movies.

2. Towering skyscrapers that seemed to touch the clouds.

3. Bustling streets filled with people from diverse backgrounds.

Upon arrival, Emily and sophia settled into their cozy single-room apartment. Their apartment was so cozy scent like a freshly brewed coffee,Emily marvelled at the sight of the room,Sofia chucked noticing her awe"You are going to love it here",Emily replied "Am loving it already".

"Make yourself at home," Sophia said, unpacking boxes. Emily was so tired from the days journey so she went to take a long shower . Ater unpacking,the duo ate the food packed by their mother as dinner cause it's late at night already and they did not want to get lost by night walk . After eating dinner,the gist and planned on how to settle down well in the city, Sophia told Emily she want to be a fashion designer and will go for job hunting the next day since she has all qualifications to be one . Emily need not to explain her plan to her sister because everyone knows what Emily will like to become in the future,Emily wants to own an art gallery because she is so good in painting a lot ,she gets most of her income from her little painting work .

The two chatted till they fall asleep.

The second day,Emily woke up strong and eager to see how today goes,she prepared the noodles she packed from home for her and her sister then went to the bathroom to take a relaxing bath and dress up packed her hair in a pony tail to go for the days activities even though she did not know where to start from but her confidence assured her that something positive will come out from today's hunt. she took her painting along with the hope of possibly finding someone to attract. On sister also dressed up for job hunt to find a company that will employ her as a fashion designer,she put on her crystal blue long sleeve shirt with a black skirt and the duo left home together .As they move , Sophia sighted a designer company and she wanted to try out her luck in the company,she informed Emioy and told her they have to part ways .

As she turned onto a new street, Emily's sister cautioned, "Be careful, Emily. Don't get lost."

Emily nodded, tucking her phone into her pocket. "I'll be fine, Sis. I need to get familiar with the city.

Emily explored the city, discovering.

1. Vibrant street art

2. Quaint cakes

3. Bustling markets.

IN THOMPSON MANSION

Peter sat in the dimly lit dining area ,the soft glow of the chandelier above casting shadows on his face .He mechanically lifted forkfuls of food to his mouth ,his eyes fixed on a point beyond the wall. his mind however was elsewhere,consumed by his weight of thoughts . His brow furrowed etching deep lines of concern on his forehead,He dropped the fork in his hand with no sign of taking back the fork ,his fingers drumming against the table 'How has it come to this?just last year ,collector clamoured for our art work and now the phones are silent and the gallery echo with emptiness '

As he was lost in thought his phone rings and he took a deep breath before taking it ,he was expecting to hear another sad news because it was his secretary calling,he picked it and the secretary told him they've seen an artist suitable to replace their lost one ,Ethan remain cool not showing any emotion he was lost in thought once again before replying his secretary that he will come to work for the full details right way ,he stood up and headed straight to his room to dress up for work .

ON THE STREET

Emily

"A million dollar" she whispered ,she was so amazed someone could buy her paint in that huge amount ,she thought to herself that if she could sell a single art work in such amount as a street seller then imagine how more she will earn if she have her own company,this thought filled Emily's heart that she couldn't help but smile at those thoughts,she begins to see herself that her dreams are coming through even though they've not but she believes they surely will one day .

Emily walked down the city street and Ethan cruising on his sport care lost in thought he did not notice the pedestrian stepping off the curb.

Emily going home didn't notice the car approaching suddenly heard the screech of car .

Ethan eyes locked into Emily's ,her eyes flashing annoyance.

"Watch were you are going" Ethan called out ,his tone sharp.

Emily's face reddened "You're the one speeding"

Ethan looking very annoyed"You are jaywalking"

Their word hung in the air, tension building.

Emily gaze narrowed "Typical rich spoilt boy,thinking you own the road"

Ethan smirked"Typical small girl, thinking you are above the law right"

Their exchange was cut short as Ethan received a call which softened his expression softened.

Emily took advantage of the distraction to shoot him a withering look before storming off

Ethan watch her go ,his eyes lingering on her fiery spirit and he went back to his car.

Ethan begin to wonder the type of girl he just met right now,he begin to wonder if he's not the same handsome guy every lady falls in love with anymore ,he later count the girl as a rude spoilt girl .

Emily on the other hand was full of anger as she wonder the type of guy she just met at the street .
