Soon, the sound of leaves being trampled was heard quickly from the direction of the bush. Eric appeared carrying two large young coconuts in both arms. "These are the youngest ones I've found," he said as he plopped down next to Adora. "Shall I cut them now?" Adora nodded quickly. "Yes. Cut a hole in the top. We need the water right now." Nimbly, Eric stuck his small knife into the tip of the coconut. Once the hole was large enough, he handed the first coconut to Adora. Adora lifted Daren's head carefully, resting it on her thigh. "Slowly." she whispered, then began pouring coconut water little by little over Daren's pale lips. "Please don't spit it out." The first few drops only ran down his chin.
