As Nia stepped her foot into Torak’s cabin, the smell of wood smoke mingled with the dinner prepared by Leah filtered into her nose. Somehow, it reminded her of her mother’s cooking just as Leah reminded her of her mother. The smell enveloped her in nostalgic warmth, a stark contrast from the icy cruel world. As she moved across the dimly lit space to her room, every step Nia took, reminded her of the rigorous training earlier in the day.
