The tower roared to life.
Energy surged through the circular chamber as the ancient network responded to Azrael’s command. The floating ring above him accelerated into motion again, spinning faster and faster until the air itself hummed with power.
Blue light flooded the room.
Panels across the walls lit up with cascading symbols and maps of the world far beyond the canyon.
Azrael felt the system inside him expand.
Not physically.
But conceptually.
Like a door had opened somewhere deep inside his mind.
