Chapter 22: Marked by Fire

213 Words
Pain. Pleasure. Power. The moment his teeth sank into my skin, the world tilted. A rush of fire exploded through my veins, searing, claiming—too much and not enough all at once. My back arched against the wall, a choked gasp escaping my lips as my wolf howled in triumph. Mine. The word crashed into my mind, not just from him but from deep inside myself. My fingers dug into his shoulders, nails biting into flesh. I should have pushed him away. I should have fought back. But instead— I clung to him. Because the moment he bit me, something inside me snapped wide open. Something dark. Something ancient. Something undeniable. His growl rumbled against my throat as he sealed the mark, his tongue flicking over the sensitive flesh, sending a violent shudder down my spine. Gods. I’d felt pain before. I’d been broken before. But this? This was something else entirely. This was fire consuming me from the inside out. This was need clawing at my skin, my bones, my very soul. I gasped, trembling, as his mouth dragged lower, his lips burning a path down my collarbone. His hands—strong, unyielding hands—gripped my waist, yanking me flush against him, and I felt every inch of him.
