The moment his body covered mine, the war I’d been fighting ended.

Heat. Pure, suffocating heat.

His weight pressed me into the mattress, his scent—dark, primal, intoxicating—flooded my senses. My body reacted before my mind could catch up, arching into him, chasing the warmth, chasing the undeniable connection crackling between us.

His lips trailed from my jaw to my throat, slow and deliberate, his teeth grazing where his mark burned. I shuddered, my breath hitching as he exhaled against my sensitive skin.

“You’re mine now,” he murmured, voice dark and possessive.

“Still fighting?” His lips trailed lower, his mouth hot against my skin. “Fine.”

Then his hands slid lower.

Lower.

And when his fingers brushed where I was aching for him most—

I shattered.

A ragged moan tore from my lips, my body arching into him, desperate, needing more.

And that’s when I knew—I had already lost.

His body tensed, a low, feral growl vibrating against my skin.
