A couple of days later, Dr. Jimenez came to see Alyssa. “You're going to be released soon. I need to go over your instructions,” the doctor said, her eyes glued to her clipboard, not looking at her. “All right,” she replied, a little listlessly. “It's really important that you not put weight on your leg at all until we say it's okay. You don't want to make it worse.” “Of course not.” “So, I'm going to have the physical therapist check you out. You may be able to get by with crutches, but most likely you're going to need a walker. You'll need to come back for regular checkups to be sure the bone is healing correctly.
