Alpha Sebastian POV
Leaving Kamiko was hard, but I gave her my mobile phone number- which I went out and bought yesterday so that I could contact her- and said to stay in touch. She smiled at me and seemed really grateful for my help.
I ended up staying for breakfast, but I left afterwards once Brenda arrived to take over guarding duty. Brenda told us she was there to see Kamiko and spend the day with her to make sure she was alright, but it was really guard duty and I want someone with Kamiko at all times now.
I do not know who the attacker is or why he attacked her and that worries me. But what concerns me more is that the man is a wolf and not a human, therefore he must have had a reason for stalking her.
The fact that Kamiko never mentioned him is even more worrying, I hope she is not one of those independent people who think that they can handle everything on their own. Not that it is a bad thing if she is, but it means that I will be worrying more because I wont know if she is telling me everything or if there is something that she is hiding that could get her hurt and I would not be able to help or protect her.
I know it sounds hypercritical and mean, but I want to love and protect her but how can I if she does not rely on me? Like I want to rely on her.
I sigh as I drive back to the pack, borrowing Brenda’s car so that I would at least have time to think because if I shifted my wolf would just go back.
To damn right I would, never should have left her. He growls.
We have no choice.
Of course we do.
No, we don’t. The sooner we question the rogue, the sooner we can make her safe again. I argue.
My wolf growls quietly but doesn’t say anything else, knowing that I am right.
Besides, I am sure she will text us. I say, both me and my wolf smiling at the thought of finally being able to be with her.
Later that day at the pack dungeon
“Who are you?” I alpha order, but the rogue does not even bat an eye lid.
“Who sent you?” I ask.
Again, the rogue does not answer me. I walk over to the rogue and pull a syringe out of my pocket.
“Other packs would break your body, but I would rather not do that as I don’t really want to get blood everywhere. In this syringe is wolfsbane, now I don’t know the dosage so I don’t know if it will kill you or not. Are you willing to talk yet?” I ask.
The rogue just smirks at me as he clearly thinks that I am just playing around.
I take a sniff, “Ohhhh, smells undiluted.” I say, smiling at him as I step forward and put the needle into his neck.
“STOP!” He cries, just as I start to press on the plunger.
He cries out as just a small amount enters his system, but I stop. After all, I don’t want to do too much damage just yet.
I step back and look at him expectantly.
“I don’t know who she is…” He starts but I growl.
“Bull.” I reply.
“No, honestly. All I know is that my alpha made me rogue a few days ago, he said that the only way for me to get back into the pack was if I got her. I don’t know who she is or why, but he gave me her photograph and her place of work. It was up to me to get her.” The rogue says quickly.
“What pack are you from? And why was you banished?” I ask.
“I was a member of the Oblivion Pack, apparently because he doesn’t have a Luna my alpha said he had no need for a gamma, so he banished me. But just as I was leaving, he gave me my task. I want a home again; I want a pack so I decided to have a look. When I discovered that she was human I was surprised, but then figured she may be his mate or special to him in some way, so I decided to get her.” He explains.
I growl. I have heard of the Oblivion Pack, they reside in another region but they are only a few hours away from this town, so it may well have been that the alpha or beta saw me dancing with my mate. Either that or there is more to her than meets the eye.
The Oblivion Pack is known for its ruthlessness under its new leadership. The pack was once highly regarded and respected, with the old alpha and Luna being revered within the werewolf community as they always fought for justice and were pillars within our worlds.
But then about three years ago they mysteriously died in a rogue attack, they didn’t shift or anything. No drugs were found to be in their systems, but it always smelt funny. When their son took over the pack the change was almost instant, he rules an iron fist, and he views everyone as beneath him.
“What does your Alpha want with her?”
“I don’t know.”
I step forward holding up the syringe but he starts whimpering.
“Honestly, I don’t know. If I did, I would tell you. All I know is that he wants her right now. For some reason he is after her, and I am not the only one he would have sent here.”
“Who else is here for her?” I ask.
“I don’t know.” He states.
I have had enough, and I step forward and inject a bit more wolfsbane into him, maybe that will loosen his lips a bit.
“AHHHHHH” He shouts, but no one comes to his aid as he thrashes against the wolfsbane entering his system and the shackles binding him to the wall.
“TELL ME OR I WILL ADD MORE!” I shout.
“I SWEAR I DON’T KNOW! BUT HE IS THE KIND OF ALPHA WHO WILL STOP AT NOTHING!” He shouts at me, pain lacing his voice.
I look into his eyes and see that he is telling the truth. I tut before turning towards the door. I will have to tell the pack and get warriors to protect Kamiko from afar for now, but I will have to start getting close to her.
I walk out of the cell but leave the door open.
“Have at him.” I say to Jason and Jeff, who have both been wanting a piece of him for hurting their Luna.
They smirk at me and nod, entering the cell. His cries follow me as I exit the dungeon and head off to the pack house for a shower and to get rid of the smell of rogue.
