Chapter Six I passed by the cinema as it expelled a multicolored throng from dazzlingly lit galleries and cast them into caverns of darkness. Everything in the cinema’s darkness had proceeded according to the watchers’ desires. The differences between them had disappeared, and their eyes were glued to a vision of themselves playing the roles of the lovers and adventurers. But as soon as the lights came on and the exit music began to play, people saw each other’s faces again, and the sweet delusion disappeared.
