I kick back and rest my feet on the table, not paying any attention to where Dimitri"s map is. He throws me a disapproving look but says nothing. He"s probably well aware nothing he can say will change me.
"You wanted to see me?" I ask after getting bored with the silence. I"m still not used to having so much time to myself and silence bugs me as a result.
"I always want to see you," he counters, sounding ever so slightly exasperated.
Hmm. That doesn"t seem very always to me. More like he wants rid of me so he can plan better. That seems more like it.
"Okay then, I was told you wanted to see me at this time and place specifically." I stress the word, hoping it"ll get him to hurry up with whatever he wants to tell me.
