The President woke up in his chambers a very disturbed man . He had a serious hangover from last night's drinking . He had been used to finding some solace in the bottle whenever matters weighed heavily in his head . He had taken one bottle too many , especially after the guests had left . He had retreated into this room and continued to hit on the bottle as he reviewed the events of the day . Having mutually agreed with his spouse to sleep in different chambers , he felt lonely for want of somebody to share his grieves with . He wished the mother of his children could be responsive . Kate , his wife , though felt betrayed by the separation , had welcomed this move because his philandering had already robbed her of her conjugal rights .
