An accord had been made among the five Principals of the Restoration of Democracy Alliance to field Rahma as the running mate of Jaduong . Having a woman as the second in command was a revolting suggestion for the other aspirants to stomach because to them it was strange in the traditions of the country . However , their rigidity and conservativeness in a country that was dynamically evolving was to cost them dearly as most men and women saw it fit to have gender balance at the top .
