Chapter 1- HIS WISH

**Colby's POV**

*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP*

Colby rolled over and shut off the annoying alarm. He knew what it meant, that he had to go to school. Groaning he stood up and heard a knock on his bedroom door.

"Who is it", his voice sounded rough to his

ears.

"It's me can I come in?", a familiar sweet voice asked. Its Violet his best friend from childhood.

"Yeah, come in.", he says as he walks to his bathroom to get ready. When suddenly he remembers it's their birthday is tomorrow. They had been friends since her family came to be part of his father's pack. Something happened between her mom and their old alpha. He wasn't sure what happened but he didn't care. Violet and her parents were amazing people and where welcomed into our pack instantly.

I came out of the bathroom shirtless and wearing a pair of blue jeans that made my a** look amazing. I wasn't sure how to feel at first it was a huge coincidence that they shared a birthday, but it made them even closer friends.

"What's the occasion? You're wearing your sexy jeans.", Violet asked outta no where. She was eyeing my butt like she could eat me up. Seeing her eyes glow like that almost turned me on. I love her eyes they are the color of the ocean and when she got excited they danced like the waves.

" Do you remember what tomorrow is, V?" I asked waiting in excitement. Tomorrow they turn 18 and have their first shift. Since he was the alphas son his mom was planning a huge celebration and since Violet was his best friend his mom made sure to include her in everything. Like she's done for years.

Violet stood there thinking, playing coy, " hmmm, I'm not sure Cole why don't you tell me."

I laughed," Oh come on, V, you can't tell me you forgot already. Mom would be so upset to know you weren't jumping for joy at all her work." I love teasing her like this it's what makes our friend ship so sweet.

She laughed flopping on my bed," I wish you were joking, but I know your not. Your mom is more excited than we are about tomorrow. To be completely honest, Cole, I'm kinda scared." She started to chew her thumb nail, a bad habit she's had since before she came here.

"Why are you scared? I'm going to be right there with you. Honestly I can't wait to meet our wolves but I'm nervous too. So don't feel sad, okay?" I look at her and think about how sexy she looks laying in bed.

Wait? What, sexy? Stop these thoughts man she's your childhood friend nothing more. He can't believe he just went there she's his friend and he refuses to ruin that with her.

Suddenly there's another knock at the door and Violent hollars," Come in!"

His mom pops her head in the doorway. "Good morning kiddos. Are you ready to eat? Breakfast is ready downstairs and I don't want you late to school."

"Yeah we will be right down mom. I just have to find the text book I threw yesterday." I say while I am searching under the bed. The paper I was writing pi***d me off so I threw the book I was using for reference. It also gave me an excuse to not let my mind wander where it was trying to less than a minute ago.

"Why? No, nevermind I'm not going to ask. Also, son your father wants to talk to you tomorrow before the ceremony. He will be back from the council meeting sometime around 2 in the morning." And with that his mom leaves and closes the door behind her.

"Huh, I wonder why alpha wants to talk to you?" Violet says mostly to herself. She seems to get lost in thought for a second and then hopps off the bed. "I found your book." She pulls it out of my closet.

"Thanks, V, your the best. Ready to grab and go. I wanna get today over with. I'm just happy it's Friday." I say as I head to the door. Violet walks to the kitchen grabs some food for the road, and I dart out the front door to hide from my mother. I love my parents but they can be suffocating at times. My dad with teaching me how to take the alpha position when he retires, and my mom with me finding someone to make my luna. Honestly, I'm not interested in anyone but Violet. She's like my forbidden flower though. Most people at school think we're dating so I don't have a bunch of she wolves trying to get in my pants, not that I've ever shown interest in anyone anyway.

As the alpha's son I'm shown all respect from my classmates. There are a few who are jealous of my position in the pack, but it's not something that I control so they can deal with it. Even though I'm the future alpha I'm not super popular. I've never truly had time for friends other than Violet. All my time is spent learning from my father and studying for classes.

As I get ready for bed I think about Violet and the first time we met. As I lay in bed I remember what happened to her parents after they came to the pack. My father was showing them the pack grounds and their old alpha showed up looking for Violet. Thankfully, V and I were still playing in the garden. My mom came looking for us and took us to my dad's office. I could tell something was wrong. My dad told us that the rival alpha showed up. He said that he made her parents go back to their pack but he couldn't hide the cent of her parents blood on his black cloths from me. I just hoped she couldn't smell it to.

***10 years ago***

*8 year old Colby*

I was playing in front of the pack house. My dad was gone on a meeting so I had a break from being shown alpha edict. I don't even know why dad bothers showing me this now. I'm just a kid let me play with the other pups of the pack.

My mom comes outside to watch me. Her phone starts to ring and she answers it," Hey, is everything okay? I thought you were in a council meeting, my mate?" She turns pale and walks away out of my hearing range. Since I have alpha blood I've always been able to hear vary well. I don't think my parents know. I am good at keeping small things from them like how strong my since of smell and hearing were. I like this advantage. I can figure things out about the pack they try to hide from me and I can try to help. Normally it just gets me into trouble though.

A few hours later my dad comes up the driveway in his blacked out SUV. When I walk up to the SUV. The back door opens up, and a cute girl around my age hops out of the back seat. Who's that? I wonder if dad adopted her and that's why mom looked worried. I know they can't have anymore kids they were lucky to have me and I almost didn't make it. I wasn't supposed to know this, but one day I was snooping through my dad's office and found some medical records from when I was born. I had a bunch of health issues that I will apparently out grow, but my mom had to have surgery to keep her alive. I never told anyone what I found since the rest of the pack is hoping they have more kids to make our pack stronger.

I walked to the SUV to say hi to my dad when he spotted me he said," Son this is a new pack member her and her parents are going to be part of our pack. Why don't you show her around. And son, keep her happy, at lot has happened. Okay?"

"Yes sir." I say to my dad and turn to the girl. She's the same height as me and has white hair. "Hi, I'm Colby White. What's your name?" When she finally looked at me, I saw her eyes. They looked like a sad empty ocean. She looked like she had been crying a lot. "Hey do you wanna see my mom's garden, she has all kinds of pretty flowers?"

The girl smiled and her eyes lit up a little. "Yes, please. Oh, m-my name is Violet. Violet Razor."

Violet Razor that's an odd last name?... All well I better make her happy or dad will be upset with me.

"Come on, Violet. This way!", I grab her hand gently since she looked upset. I don't wanna make her cry again. We rounded the house and walked into the garden. This is my favorite place it was quite and smelled nice.

Violet looked around and she smiled "It's so pretty, future alpha." She lost her smile and looked at her feet,"I'm sorry I forgot to bow for you, future alpha, please forgive me."

I was confused she went from happy to sad. Did I do something wrong? "Why are you calling me that? You can call me, Colby. I don't like being called that, okay?"

She looked at me with tears in her eyes,"Your not going to hit me are you?"

I was taken aback," No, why would I do that? You didn't hit me and your a girl."

She looked confused," So, I'm safe?"

I was wondering what she meant by that. I could tell she needed to hear she was. " Yes, your safe here. I have no idea who did that to you, but I promise. Alphas word you'll be safe around me." All of a sudden she hugs me like she's holding on for dear life. She starts to cry a little, sniffling. So, I hug her back and decide she is my best friend.

"Hey, Violet? Will you be my friend?" She looks up at me. A smile spread across her face and she jumps up and down.

"YES YES YES!!!!! I've never had a friend before." She was so happy. She was jumping up and down. Her eyes were so blue they looked like they glowed.

**Colby's POV**

I jump awake from the dream I was having. I haven't dreamt of the past in a long time. I was happy I woke up because to relive my father telling us lies hurts. I got out of bed to keep from thinking of it. I look at my phone and it says 1:30AM. Dad will be home soon but I'll talk to him later I'm still tired. Wandering downstairs to the kitchen I notice the backdoor is open. I wander out there smelling the air and catch a familiar sent sunflowers and roses. I follow the smell until I come to the center of the garden and see Violet sleeping on the bench. "Silly, your gonna catch a cold. Why do you do this to yourself? You have your own room with a comfy bed now. There's no need to keep doing this."

Violet snuggles into my chest as I pick her up. Before I realize it my eyes wander to the cleavage showing from the v of her sleep shirt. I see the sexy red bra she's wearing, I swallow hard, and try not to think any more of it. She's just a friend! There's no point in thinking anything else Colby. Just a friend! I keep repeating that in my head as I walk back to my room and lay her in my bed. I don't want her waking up in her room, and panicking I made that mistake once. I refuse to make it again.

Once I have her tucked into bed and she's settled. I walk to my balcony and look out over the garden. I wander what it would be like to have her for myself? THEN TAKE HER! A deep rumbling voice sounds through my mind fierce and loud. Are you my wolf? YES, MY NAME IS BRUTE. Well, this isn't how I pictured meeting my wolf. I walk to the bathroom and look in the mirror. I see the familiar short brown hair and look at my eyes. A red glow was there just under my usual emerald green. It was odd, but not unsettling to me. Brute can you calm down I don't want to scare Violet. YOU MEAN OUR MATE? Wait Violet is our mate? I get all giddy inside and then fear rolls through me. What if I hurt her or she doesn't accept me? She is. No need to fear she will accept us we are fated to be together. Are you sure Brute? She gets scared easily. I am sure just give it time. Before we can continue talking I hear her start to wake up. Brute hides into the back of my mind and I walk out to Violet and she opens her eyes and they have a golden glow under her ocean blue color.

"Violet, you okay?", I ask. As I slowly walk to her so I don't spook her.

"MATE!!??", Violets wolf has almost full control right now. If it was closer to the end of our birthday she would have shifted already. But our kind don't shift till the last few hours of our birthday expecually since tonight is a full moon.

"Your her wolf. Whats your name?", I walk to the edge of the bed and sit down letting her feel my presence as future alpha.

She purrs." Rain. I want to speak to my mate let him out.", She demands. I feel Brute try to force his way out.

"No, not until I speak to Violet first. Brute can be intimidating to her and I do not wish to scare her. I want her to accept me as much as you do Rain. Can you allow that?", I ask trying to appeal to the she wolf.

She hesitates for a second then fades away. I feel Brute whimper. I know buddy but we can't risk scaring our mate. But mate. I promise you'll have all night with her after we shift okay? Brute fades away I can feel his reluctance but he knows I know Violet well.

The next morning I wake up to Violet snuggling my side while I lay on my back. She starts to stir and looks up at me. She suddenly launches out of the bed like it's on fire. "hey it's okay what's wrong?", I ask worried I messed up again.

"H-how did I get here Cole?", she looks panicked

"You were sleeping outside in the garden again. So I brought you inside. I didn't want to repeat what happened when I left you alone in your room the last time. And your bed isn't big enough for the both of us. I was super exhausted so I just brought you back here."

She stands there thinking and then she starts freaking out, for seemingly no reason. I launch myself out of bed and carefully walk to her, "Violet what's wrong? Talk to me. Did I do something wrong? Talk to me."

"No I-I-I have a voice in my head. S-she says h-her name is Rain."

"That's your wolf. Everything is going to be fine, V, just breath it's okay." I say in the most calming voice I can muster. She takes a deep breath. I watch as her eyes start to get the golden glow as they communicate more.

Suddenly she freezes and says,"You're my fated mate?"
