CLASSICAL MUSIC

"Honey, I'm leaving for work. Emily, please take good care of my husband." Soraya hurried out of the house just after six in the morning. "Mrs. Soraya is so energetic. You're very lucky to have a wife like her, sir." Emily watched Soraya leave with admiration in her eyes. Alan remained silent. A two-faced woman who's exceptionally talented at betraying her husband with his own best friend. Why isn't Mr. Alan saying anything? Is he sad because he can no longer see his wife's beauty? "Sir, I think we should go inside. The sky is getting very dark. It looks like it's about to rain." Emily gently guided Alan back into the house. Moments later, heavy rain poured from the sky. Meanwhile, Soraya turned her car into Tyson's driveway. "Honey." She proudly showed off her fake pregnancy belly. "A fake belly?" Tyson chuckled before pulling her into his arms. They embraced passionately, soon giving in to each other's desire on the cold, rainy morning. Soraya had deliberately come early because she wanted to see Tyson at his house. "I've missed you, sweetheart." Tyson slowly unbuttoned Soraya's blouse. Back at the house, Alan handed Emily a maternity support belt equipped with classical music. "Wear this. The classical music it plays is excellent for the baby's brain development." "Thank you, sir. It's beautiful. May I try it on now?" Emily eagerly examined the device. "Sir, how do I turn on the music?" she asked, looking confused. Alan gently reached for her hand and drew her a little closer. His fingers searched for the power button before pressing it. Soft classical music immediately filled the room. "Emily... may I kiss my baby? I've missed our child." Emily's cheeks instantly flushed. His request made her feel shy and awkward. Just then, the baby suddenly kicked inside her womb. "Sir... our baby is moving." Without thinking, Emily placed Alan's hand on her belly. "It seems our baby has missed Dad too. Hi, sweetheart. Daddy's here." Alan gently caressed Emily's rounded belly. Their baby kicked again. Alan and Emily exchanged bright smiles. "May I kiss our baby?" Emily lowered her gaze and gave a shy little nod, her cheeks glowing crimson with embarrassment. ** "My love, what do you think? Can you do it? This Sunday, Alan's parents want to see how their grandchild is developing inside my womb," Soraya said as she clung affectionately to Tyson's chest. The rain continued to pour relentlessly. Neither Soraya nor Tyson seemed eager to leave. They wanted to stay together a little longer. "I'll take care of everything. Emily has to get an ultrasound at the same time. I'll connect the monitor to the room next door so it looks completely real," Tyson said, gently stroking Soraya's hair. Soraya's phone rang. "My father-in-law? What's wrong?" she murmured, staring at the screen. "Answer it, sweetheart. It must be important." "Hello, Dad." "My dear, have you made it to the office yet?" Mr. Horison asked. "Not yet, Dad. I'm still at the repair shop. I just happened to get a flat tire," Soraya lied. "Where are you right now? I'll have the driver come pick you up." "There's no need, Dad. Everything will be finished in about ten minutes. I'll head to the office right afterward." "Drive safely, my dear. Once you get to the office, come to my office. There's something important I need to tell you." "Yes, Dad." Soraya hurried to take a shower and freshen up before continuing on to the office. "Are you sure you're going by yourself?" Tyson asked. "Of course, sweetheart. You should hurry to the clinic too. You have a lot of patients waiting for you, Dr. Tyson," Soraya said with a smile before placing a gentle kiss on Tyson's lips and leaving. As she drove, Soraya couldn't stop thinking about how angry Alan had been over the way she treated Emily. Why do I feel like Alan has changed? He keeps defending Emily and even dared to raise his voice at me. He used to be so gentle and loved me so deeply. Alan never spoke harshly to me. Even when I was the one at fault, he always spoke with kindness. POV: The Accident Last Year "My love, how are you? Where are you hurt?" Alan asked in a panic. His eyes scanned the bruises on Soraya's forehead and arm after the accident that had just happened. "I'm fine, sweetheart. But the car is completely wrecked, especially the front. I'm so sorry," Soraya said through tears. "I don't care about the car. I only care about you, my love. Your safety means far more to me," Alan said as he gently wiped away her tears. "But that was your dream car. You've wanted it for so long, and now I've ruined it," Soraya cried again. Alan pulled her into a tight embrace. "I love you so much, sweetheart. Nothing in this world is more important to me than you. I'd even give my life for you." Alan cared for Soraya until she had fully recovered, both physically and emotionally. The accident had involved several vehicles. Soraya also had to go through legal proceedings because one person had died after being struck by her car. "I've paid full compensation to the four injured victims and to the family of the person who died in the accident. They've agreed to settle the case peacefully on the condition that we cover the victim's child's education." "Thank you, sweetheart. I don't know what would have happened to me if you hadn't been by my side. I regret everything so deeply," Soraya said, breaking into tears. Alan wrapped his arms around her and said gently, "As long as I'm here, everything will be alright. I'll do anything for you, my love." ** Mrs. Grace remembered the incident that had claimed her best friend's life the previous year. "Deby!" Mrs. Grace screamed when she saw her friend's lifeless body covered in several wounds. "Who did this?" she demanded angrily. A man named Dave approached and tried to calm her down. After a lengthy explanation and an offer of compensation from Dave, Mrs. Grace gradually composed herself. "I want everything paid in advance. The victim's daughter's education expenses must also be deposited through me every month!" Mrs. Grace demanded. Dave and Mrs. Grace signed the agreement. "Forgive me, Deby. I took everything and forced Emily to take her mother's place. I did it because you always made me feel inferior. We were friends for years, but not once did I ever feel like I'd won. Seeing your daughter become a prostitute makes me feel like I've finally won," Mrs. Grace said with a laugh as she drained the wine in her glass. "Mrs. Grace, this is the money Mr. Dave transferred this month," James, Mrs. Grace's personal assistant, reported. Mrs. Grace smiled as she looked at the amount that had been deposited into her account. "Good. Now send Evelyn's photo to Mr. Dave." ** "Emily, what are your plans after our baby is born?" Alan asked after gently kissing Emily's belly. "Honestly, Sir, I don't know yet. But I think I'll move far away from this city. I want to start a new life," Emily replied, her eyes sparkling. Why does it hurt so much to hear that Emily plans to leave me and our child? "Which city? Will you be staying with relatives?" Emily chuckled softly. "I've been all alone ever since my mother passed away. She once told me that her parents divorced, and after that she was forced to survive on her own without any family. Eventually, she chose the most degrading job she could. My birth wasn't something she'd planned either. I was the result of a one-night stand. Unfortunately, the man refused to take responsibility. He only gave my mother some money and told her to abort me." "Sir, why do you look so sad?" Emily asked when she noticed the tears welling in Alan's eyes. I don't want Emily to feel ashamed of herself because her story has touched me so deeply. "It's nothing, Emily. I'm still having a hard time accepting everything. My world is dark now. I don't know when things will ever return to normal," Alan replied. "I'm sure everything will be alright, Sir. Your world will be bright again someday. You have so many people who love you. And in just a few months, you'll have a brand-new title. You'll be a father," Emily said with a radiant smile as she unconsciously took Alan's hand. Alan gently squeezed her hand and stroked it tenderly. "Thank you, Emily." ** "Sir, Mrs. Soraya has arrived," Chloe, Mr. Horison's secretary, announced. "Send her in," Mr. Horison said. "Excuse me, Dad," Soraya said as she entered her father-in-law's office and sat down on the sofa. The table was filled with all kinds of food, snacks, and healthy drinks. "Eat, my dear. Pick whatever you like. I wasn't sure what your favorites were," Mr. Horison said. "Blueberry cheesecake." Soraya picked up her favorite dessert. She truly is my daughter. Samantha's daughter. Her beautiful face and remarkable intelligence must have come from her mother. Soraya ate the cheesecake slowly until it was gone. "I'm sorry, Dad. I was stuck at the repair shop for quite a while, so I'm starving," Soraya said with a soft laugh. Mr. Horison chuckled at her innocent expression. "My dear, these are the documents I'd like you to sign." "What documents?" Soraya asked. "Read them first. I think you'll like them," Mr. Horison replied. Soraya carefully read through the papers in her hands. Her eyes widened in shock. "Twenty percent personal shares?" "Dad, what does this mean? Twenty percent of the company's personal shares in my name?" she asked. "It's a gift from your mother-in-law and me. We're so happy that you're going to give us a grandchild." More than that, I'm overjoyed because I've finally found the biological daughter I've been searching for all these years. Forgive me, Samantha. I was too immature back then, cruel enough to ask you to terminate the pregnancy. Our daughter is just as beautiful as you were. Could my father-in-law's kindness have something to do with that pendant? Emily's pendant. Does that mean Emily is also Mr. Horison's biological daughter... not just me? **
