Chapter Forty-Three: Don't You Dare Run Away from Me
Brian angrily stood up, his sharp eyes looking at Vera.
"You're what?!"
Vera was scared by his tone. "Pregnant...?"
Brian, who couldn't believe what he heard, strode to where Vera was with a dark look on his face before gripping her face.
"And why did you get pregnant?! Didn't I tell you that I don't want any more kids?" Brian screamed in her face, and Vera whimpered in pain and fear.
"But I just want to have a child with us."
Brian's nostrils flared, and he slapped the woman. "Why didn't you just do what I wanted?!"
Vera cried out in pain while holding her cheek.
Brian's twins, Jean and Emily, arrived at the party, but Jean stayed in the car.
"Why don't you want to go out?"
"You know I hate parties," Jean replied blankly.
