Chapter Forty-six: Vulnerable to You
Phoenix grabbed the man by the neck and pushed him against the wall. He strangled him until he couldn't breathe, and his face turned red.
"Phoen—Mr. Montgomery!" Athena stopped her husband, who actually stopped.
Brian almost coughed his lungs out and fell to his knees. "Mr... Montgomery!"
"Why are you harassing my employee?" Phoenix asked furiously, and it was taking everything in him not to hurt the fucker who dares touch his wife.
"You had it wrong, sir," Brian lied while catching his breath. "We were just fooling around. Weren't we, Athena?"
Their eyes turn to Athena, and her eyes that are focused on Brian are filled with hatred because she remembers how much of a monster he was.
Athena swallowed and averted her gaze. "Yes, sir. He's right."
