Phoenix angrily looked at her. "Are you accusing me like I'm the one who's at fault here? That son of a b***h is the one you should be blaming, not me."
"I only asked for one thing, Phoenix. One thing! And you couldn't even do that."
He grabbed her arm, not expecting her reaction. "Do not treat me like I'm a monster here!"
Despite his anger, Phoenix softened when he saw fear in her eyes. He pulled her into his arms, remembering that she was a victim of that violent man, so there was no wonder she was afraid of him.
