Chapter Fifty-Four: Dark Plans
"Hey, kid. Enough!" Phoenix stopped Jean, and he cowered back in fear, but anger, hurt, and betrayal were evident in his face.
"Is this the man you cheated on dad with? Does it feel good that you can buy people with your money?"
Phoenix's fists clenched, but Athena was quick to stop him, scared that he'd hurt Jean.
"Phoenix, please!"
"That boy needs to be taught a lesson."
"No! He's just confused and lost," Athena reasoned, with a pleading look on her face.
"Well, I'll show him the way back. Don't worry, love. Just obey me. You said you'd be obedient, right?"
Athena looked at him with uncertainty and hesitation.
"You, come with me. Let's talk. Man to man."
Jean gave him a look of doubt and distrust.
