CHAPTER EIGHT

Ronan POV “This is your bedroom for the next six months. Please get settled in. Adams will give you a tour of the place later in the day.” I said briskly. I feel her eyes widen as she takes in the size of the bedroom. I don't get why she is acting like she just landed in some fairy tale since we got into the house. It's just a house, I thought, truly perplexed. “I have to leave for work. If you need anything, you can just ring the bell in your room and Adam will come. You are free to explore the house, especially my bedroom.” I can't help but tease her, knowing she would blush prettily, a sight I haven't seen in years. “You wish!” She scoffs. Like I predicted she blushes bright red, making her look more captivating. I can't help but stare at her. Her beauty and innocence were what captured my attention across that parking lot when I saw her dragging that monstrosity she calls a bag. “My Attorney will send the contract document to you before the end of today. If there is any clause you are not comfortable with, we can discuss it when I get back home.” She nods in understanding as she drags the said monstrosity inside the room. I know I should probably offered to help her, like any gentleman would do, but there is no way in hell, I am touching that thing. Who knows how many termites are hiding there waiting for the perfect opportunity to jump out? I thought as I shuddered involuntarily. I hate rodents. “Like I said, there is food in the kitchen, so feel at home. After all, for the next six months, you are my fiance as far as the world is concerned. See you soon bralette” I smirked as I hastily beelined for the exit, seeing the look of murder painted on her face as she glared daggers at me. Coral being angry is so hot and sexy! I find that I enjoy riling her up. The next six months are going to be exciting for sure! I thought as I headed downstairs. Climbing down the staircase, I noticed Adam pacing around the staircase, his gaze snapped up when he heard my footsteps as he suddenly stood attention, wearing a pensive look. I shot him a quizzical look as I covered the distance between us. “What is the matter, Adams?” I asked He clears his throat not meeting my eyes. “The cleaning crew are due here in the next one hour. Also, I have prepared a menu for the meals ready so I can show it to Miss Seattle when she comes downstairs.” “Good! Well done Adams,” I said. Thinking that was all he wanted to say, I turned away to grab my bag to head out to the office. Adam cleared his throat making me whirl around arching a brow. “What now?” I asked, impatience sipping into my voice. I am already an hour late for work and tardiness is something I detest. He nervously shuffles from foot to foot, still refusing to meet my eyes. Now I am really curious. It's unlike him to be tongue-tied or nervous around me, whatever he has to say must be serious for him to be acting this way. Adam has been my housekeeper since I moved from my parent's house to get my place. Over the years, we have kind of grown on each other. Besides, he is best at what he does, which makes our working together more seamless. He is in his 30’s and is more like a friend than an employee to the chagrin of Olivia who thinks it uncouth to be friends with your employees. “It's about Miss Seattle, sir!” He said still looking pensive. “What about her?” “Ummm, I don't think Olivia would be happy to find out a lady is staying with you.” He finished. Oh, I see what his issue is. I had introduced Sabrina as my fiancee earlier. To say he was shocked is putting it mildly since he hadn't seen me with her before. “Adam, since when have a given a f**k what makes Olivia happy or not? She is not my wife no matter how hard she strives to be so I bloody owe her no explanation whatsoever.” I stared him down so he could see that I meant every word I just said. “Noted sir” he looks properly chastised. “One more thing, not one word about Olivia to Sabrina. I will be the one to tell her about it later. Do you understand?” “Do you it's wise to keep it a secret? What if…” I glared at him, making him snap his mouth shut. “Do you understand?” I repeated, already at the end of my patience. “Ye..s sir! I ah I need to check on what I am cooking.” He said beating a quick retreat to the kitchen. I stood there for a minute as I sighed deeply, knowing my tone was a bit harsh and Adam didn't deserve that, after all, he was just looking out for me. But it was necessary I assured myself. Adam has a lot of good qualities but he also has a big mouth and I can't risk him tattling to Sabrina about my relationship with Olivia before she even has a chance to sign the contract. I know not disclosing everything to her isn't fair on her, but what if I tell them and then she decides she retract her agreement? I prefer she signs the contract first, even if that makes me feel like a shitty person. She has to sign the contract today, I thought as I walked out of the house. I put a call through to Thomas, my Attorney as soon as I got into the car. He answers on the first ring. “Mr Eldorado” “Thomas! Hope this isn't a bad time to talk.” I asked He chuckles. “It's never a bad time with you. What do you need me to do for you?” “You know me so well.” I laughed. “I need you to draft a fake fiancee six contract agreement for a six months term, between me and someone as well as a nondisclosure clause.” The line was silent on the other side for a few seconds and just when I was about to check if he was still there, Thomas's amused voice drawled. “This is one of the weirdest demands you have made of me. Do I even want to know why you need a pretend fiancee for six months?” “No, you don't. I just need to know if you can get the paperwork ready by this evening.” “Sure I will.” He assured. I breathed a sigh of relief at that, knowing Thomas always delivers on time. “Thanks, man. Send it to my private mailbox when it's ready” I said hanging up. Now that, that is out of the way I can get to work and focus on the business of the day. I thought as I headed to the office.
