Ronan's POV
I blinked at Sabrina as she made her demand that I give her a job at the firm. I must confess I am secretly surprised she is showing some backbone and not afraid to demand what she wants.
It's one of the qualities that drew me to her because for the role she will be playing for the next 6 months she will need some backbone to handle Olivia and my mum.
“Hmm since there is no vacancy at the firm at the moment, your request will be hard.” I lied pretending to think about it.
Honestly, though, I had intended to give her a job at the firm that would be a perfect way to show her off as my fiancee which invariably makes Olivia back off.
“You have to make it possible because I am signing those papers unless you agree. She huffs, sounding indignant when both know she doesn't have a choice but to sign it. I refrain from calling her bluff as my eyes trail down the tiny robe she is wearing.
My mind involuntarily pictures her without it and I wrestle to bring my body under control. I have never felt instant intense attraction for anyone before, so this feeling of cursing is sought of disconcerting.
“Is there anything else you want added?” I ask, forcing my eyes away from the v between her boobs.
“No, that is my only condition.”
“Perfect, be ready at 8:00 am sharp tomorrow morning so I can introduce you to your new colleagues. Now sign the damn papers.” I said handing a pen to her
She arches a brow at me as if in disbelief before she reluctantly takes the pen and affixes her signature.
I heaved out the breath I didn't know I was holding. Things are already going as planned, hopefully by tomorrow, Olivia and everyone will know I am off the singles market.
“What kind of job are you going to be giving to me?” She asks anxiously.
I stand up to leave, enjoying how she squirms under my gaze. Good! I am glad to see that I am not the only one affected by the chemistry between us.
“Don't you think it's a little too late to ask what kind of job?” I teased. Her eyes narrow at me as she points to the door. “Could you please excuse me, I have to get dressed for bed.”
Instead of being rebuffed about her bossiness, I find myself turned on. Having someone who isn't falling over themselves to please message, is truly exhilarating. I am used to ladies bending over backward to please me, even when I know I am being ridiculous or obnoxious.
“Not so fast. You know there is a nondisclosure clause there and that means you cannot tell anyone about this.” I reiterate. She glares at me in annoyance, it seems everything I say rile her up.
“I know what a nondisclosure clause is! Besides, it's not like I have anyone to go blabbing to.”
I am almost tempted to ask why she doesn't have anyone to talk to but I decide to refrain from probing, knowing she would not answer me. With time I am sure I will find out anyway.
I shook my head at her, hiding a smile behind an indifferent look.
Before I leave, however, there is one more thing I need to do, so I made a spur of the moment decision to pay part of the agreed sum since she has signed the contract.
I pull my phone from my breast pocket as I screw through to my bank app and input $500,000, before remembering I still don't have her account details.
“Call your account details,” I demanded. She gives me a puzzling look before reciting her account details. I quickly do the transfer and slip my phone back into my pocket
“I just sent you half a million as part payment for the contract, you can check your phone for the credit alert if you think I am lying.” Her eyes widened comically.
She hurries over to her bedside to fish for her phone. She blinked as she saw the alert.
“Thank you for the upfront. I guess I have to make sure my acting skills are top-notch tomorrow.” She comments drily, "However, I think for this pretend fiance thing to work we need to know each other to get our story straight.
She has a point. I didn't even think about the fact that people are certainly going to ask questions about our supposed relationship.
"you are right. why don't we both compile a list of basic things about us and exchange them tomorrow morning before we head to the office." I suggested.
"that is fine by me." she agrees, chewing on her lips which is kind of distracting as my eyes keep going to those plump lips.
"is there something else you want to say?"I prompt
"umm yeah. it's about the story of how we met. I think we need to figure that out."
"that's easy. we tell them the truth." I said with a shrug. she glares at me.
"You want us to tell them that we met outside my workplace with my bra and panties thrown around?" she blinks at me in disbelief.
"well...I place a hand on my cheek as c**k my head, pretending to be deep in thought, knowing that would aggravate her futher, "I think we can omit the colour of the panties and just tell them..."
"not one more word from you mister!" she cuts in. "I will think up something. now get out of my room, please." she said pointing to the door.
“Perfect. See you in the morning!” I said walking out of her bedroom to head to my bedroom, though I would have loved nothing more than to tease her. I had a hectic day at work and I perceive tomorrow will be worse so I need the rest today. After all, tomorrow will be the beginning of our six-month charade.
