"How long have you guys known each other?" Julie asked as Shane finally pulled out onto the street.
"Dax and I? We met in boot camp about 20 years or so. After that, we met Evan when we got our first assignment. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time. But since then, Carson's lock-picking skills have come in handy. Evan, on the other hand, just joined a short while ago. We needed someone who understood new tech, and Dax and I feel we are the proverbial old dogs with new tricks," Shane told her with a laugh.
"Old dogs? You're a total of what... 35?" Julie asked.
Shane chuckled. "Close. We're 38, sugar."
