Saturday dawned clear and bright. Bev woke to the sound of the courthouse clock chiming 8am. She had left her windows open and the fresh morning air drifted in on a soft breeze. She had slept soundly, finally a reprise from disturbing dreams and flashbacks. What a great day to take a hike, get out in this beautiful rugged countryside. She dressed in her running suit and her best tennis shoes, packed a back-pack, dawned a Rockies baseball cap and headed to the nearby state park. There were plenty of trails to choose from. She headed out on a ten mile loop that would take her to the top of Sleeping Lion Mountain. The ranger had told her that it was the best view of Davis Valley to the south, a great day hike. Perfect! She traversed up the side of the rocky mountain, keeping a fair pace
