Lily's POV I got back to my seat and collapsed on it, I had to press my palms against my thighs just to steady myself. My heart was still thumping way too fast, and I had to physically turn my chair toward my monitor so I wouldn't look like I was seconds away from dying of panic. I kept telling myself to breathe, to focus, to pretend that nothing happened earlier in the hallway, that Dante hadn’t caught me by the elbow, hadn’t looked at me like he somehow saw past the entire façade I’d spent the morning trying to build.
