Chapter 36: Arrival at Mordyn

By the time the caravan makes it to the border of Mordyn, Selmas has something akin to a plan, half of it sketched out in his notebook and half of it in his head. The Nutuk leave them just at the edge of the river that runs around the clan's territory. Selmas can see the mountain that Mordyn is supposedly built into rising in the distance, a tall, black streak against the sky. Apparently fire runs through its belly, and Selmas isn't quite sure how people can live there, because it's hot enough just nearing the area. Gwynfor and Aisling have shed their layers of skirts. They've all dressed in borrowed robes, as dark as they could manage, with as little layers as they could get away with. Byrin's carrying a satchel, which they have filled with food, water skins, and rudimentary first aid
