Elisa’s POV I ran across the Academy grounds until my chest started to hurt. The night guards had already locked the main hostel gate. I stood there, breathing hard, not knowing where to go or what to do. My hands were shaking. I kept thinking of Roman’s face before I ran. He had looked too calm, like he was holding something heavy inside. I turned away from the gate and walked around the building, hoping someone was still awake. That was when I saw Vivian standing near the back door of the girls’ hostel, holding a cup of tea. We had only met earlier that week. She majored in basketball though. She blinked when she saw me. “Elisa? What are you doing outside like this?” “I… I need a place to sleep,” I said. My voice sounded small. Vivian looked at me for one second, then nodded.
