Elisa’s POV I woke up with a heavy head, like I had only just closed my eyes. The small lamp beside the bed was still on. The room was quiet. Vivian’s bed was empty. Her blanket was folded. She had already gone to her classes. I sat up slowly and rubbed my eyes. My body was tired. The night had felt too long and too short at the same time. I checked the time on my phone. 8:02 AM. My heart jumped. My first lecture started at 8:30. I stood up too fast and almost fell. I still had yesterday’s clothes on, wrinkled and smelling like panic and running. I remembered the hallway.
