The early morning sun hurts my hungover eyes. I’m embarrassed and regret last night’s decisions. I’ve been drinking a lot since coming here, I don’t want it to become a habit so I vow to take a break for a while. I’ve always been too aware of the consequences of drinking too much. I won’t ever let myself turn into my Dad. Mason was knocked on my door as I was pulling the warm muffins out of the oven. Basic Blueberry and chocolate chip I didn’t have enough energy to make anything special today. With Mason helping box them up we were out the door in no time. Now we're standing next to each other receiving congratulations on our engagement as we scoop eggs and potatoes onto waiting plates, like a school lunch line.
