After I finished divulging all the details of my visions, Valerian and I laid together just holding one another. If it didn't feel so intensely right, the intimacy of it would repulse me. We talked about our options, which truthfully, we didn't have many that didn't result in certain death. I couldn't face my father now. If I jumped right back into the fire, I'd surely be giving him everything he wanted.
I still would not believe the moon goddess was my mother. Valerian however, was already planning our family reunion. He tried to convince me that she swelled with love for me when he spoke to her. I couldn't handle his optimism or his faith in her. At least, we'd both agreed that she must know what happened. If she wanted to help, she would by now. Valerian imagined
