Chapter 24: Where is Dillon Snyder?
Jason has too much to drink the following day. He begins the liquid marathon during breakfast with three mimosas. He continues his alcohol-driven episode at their hour-lunch, enjoying a sea bass salad at a down-to-earth place called Jeremiah’s Bar and Grill. Jason drinks four beers, nothing light. By two o’clock in the afternoon he needs a nap. Something short and sweet. Nothing long and tedious. After returning from lunch in the golf cart with Dillon at his side, he says to Dillon, “I need a rest. Do you care if I take a little snooze in the bedroom?”
“Of course, I don’t mind.”
“Would you like to join me?”
“I’m good. Have at it alone. I’m going to sit on the back patio and read. The Robert Riley thriller we’re sharing is heating up.”
