They all took turns, Rick really pushing it by taking a piss on the lawn. Cassandra pushed her hand over Jim’s mouth because he was laughing so hard. I was more than ready to go by then, anxious to get some anonymous road behind Rick’s very recognizable car. Right now this was still untraceable. It was innocent really, just kids goofing off, right? Until Rick brought out the piece de resistance: a can of red spray paint. “Do it,” he said, shoving the can into my hand. “Garage door. Make it big. And then we’re outta here. Burgers on us.” By then I was completely sober and my stomach ached from booze and cowardice. I took the can and made my way to the garage door.
