I wake up to find myself tucked into the bed. King Leonidas is fast asleep beside me. I quickly scramble out of bed. I hear a low growl as I sit in my usual spot by the window.
I sigh as he walks toward me. “Today, you will stand before our kingdom and become my wife and queen,” He rumbles behind me.
I say nothing and stare out the window.
He grabs my shoulder and turns me to look at him. I look away from him, but he grabs my chin and forces me to look at him. “I want to see love for me in your eyes. Something other than hatred.” He releases me and walks away.
I snort and look back out the window. My thoughts have become darker and darker. I am thinking of ways I can end my suffering. I have lost hope that Nathaniel is coming for me, and I feel so alone without Kaya in my hea
