The first formal meeting happens at six in the morning on the second day, before the children wake up. Adrián appears in the kitchen where Lola is already making coffee, having slept maybe two hours between jet lag and the anxiety of being in unfamiliar territory. He’s wearing a full suit, clearly ready to head to the office, while she’s in pajamas and a robe she found hanging in the bathroom of her suite—probably left there by some interior designer who decorated the space with the perfect female guest in mind, who is very much not her.
—We need to establish rules —Adrián says without preamble, pouring himself coffee from the industrial coffee machine in his kitchen, because of course he has an industrial coffee machine—. Clear parameters so this can work.
