Fabian was packing some important documents in preparation for mailing when his phone rang. He was sitting at his desk in his downtown L.A. office which he shared with another solicitor. There was no caller ID, so he assumed it was one of his contacts from his side hustle. “What’s up?” He said into the receiver when he answered the call. “Call off your dog,” the caller said in a menacing tone.
