Alison’s POV
Reid’s tirade came to an abrupt end. “Who’s this?” I could picture him right at this moment, seething with anger that I was with a male. His eyeball must be about to burst open.
“This is Chairman Kane, Alpha Brooks. I happen to be visiting your territory, and let me tell you something: I am not impressed.” Kane said in an icy tone.
“C... chairman Kane,” Reid mumbled.
“I happened to be passing by when I saw a group of people attacking this young lady. Have you, as the Alpha, been too negligent in maintaining order within your pack?” His tone was accusatory. I know Reid must be sweating bullets now. He cared so much about appearances, especially in front of powerful people.
“It isn’t like that, I... if you see...” He tried explaining himself just to be ignored by Kan
